I know OP put this here to spook us, but I find this facinating, it's why I love art look at how beautiful the bones are, I've never seen the pelvis described so fully. I'd love to draw this but I have to wake up around 1 AM for my shit job.

I swear art teachers only want to draw weird (usually fat) freaks these days. People have this idealistic vision of drawing hotties, when all I've ever seen in live drawing sessions are heifers - granted, no way near as bad as some stories I've heard, but the stereotype is unfortunately true.

Listen man, the way my life drawing teacher described the actual process of getting a good model, it wasnt always about looks as much as getting someone you know you can work with and not cause trouble. Ive heard stories of some models who didnt know when to fucking take a proper bathroom break so they fucking fart as they posed and they stank up the place, others arriving drunk on the scene, some who freak out at the students(the ones who arent being actual perverts mind you it would be just a misunderstanding), etc.
It takes a lot to find a good model, one that a professor can actually rely on to show up on time and get the job done and act in a professional matter, and I wasnt surprised that some of those people tend to be fucking old boomers and the fatties(also the hotter ones probably charge a lot more too, those young prideful bastards). I did notice that one of my professors however did always save the hotter models towards the end of the semester(but the hottest one was a cosplay model who never went nude)

I'm sure that's another aspect of it, but I'm also sure that many art teachers have a bit of an agenda when choosing their models, and want to pick schlubby people because that's more 'realistic' in their mind than actual average people.
There's also probably an aspect of younger people being more self conscious, while older people are more happy to just let it all hang out and not give a shit.
