Art Skill Tree
I've iterated upon an "Art Skill Tree" I had found a while back (maybe even here on /ic/).

Anyone have any input (corrections, missing "skill nodes", missing connections between the "skill node", improvement ideas)?

This is a prime example of the phenomenon where autists try to systematize anything even when they don't understand it/are too dumb to do it

This is basically that shaq thread up in the catalog right now. Let's say you get to perspective; there's a whole rabbit hole of perspective that goes on forever and ever. When will it end? It won't. Goes for "foundations", too. Which is why any hobby can milk the beginner endlessly with fundamentals.

judging from the amount of gamers on this site in general they have no other frame of reference of progression other than gaming-related terms. and since they haven't drawn they haven't realized that it is, in fact, not like a video game, trying hard to beat the stage. all while i am still collecting coins!

Learning art is like learning a language. You'll know you're fluent when people can understand what you're trying to convey easily, and anything else is just pussyfooting around.
Gamifying skill has never worked, even that martial arts belt system has been a joke since it was introduced. Put down the charts and pick up the pen.

The whole infographic is a bit unwieldy , but I like that this one emphasizes casually stepping ahead to future topics outside your strict study time early on and then once you're further ahead returning to old skills to keep them sharp.

I tried doing that for fun (with less autism) but found that it's just not very useful. If anything you just apply the DevOps model of cycling through the same skills again and again as you copy, reference, draw from scratch. Any detailed systematization is pointless unless it's for a specific niche
