What is /ALT/?
If you're looking for a place to post your cartooning then you've found the right general. This is /ic/s 1st and only merged hub where both Eastern and Western stylization can coexist peacefully, hence the double title.

I was actually between this and the angle I went with when I was sketching..
Went with the other because it felt like a softer expression but I do like the perspective on that sketch it's very clean

Anons kinda right I did just take the easy way out and redraw it. I draw too often by gut instinct and I knew something about this face was really bothering me but I couldn't figure out why. Here is another attempt, I think ultimately my issue is with the angle of the elements on her face in relation to each other.

like we are looking from above them so then how am I seeing a nostril? the lips and nose are too far apart for this angle they would be much closer. The eye thats closer to us should be lower. ALTERNATIVELY, she is giving him the SIDE look where women tilt their head. This is a much more SOFTER and MOTHERLY look which I think you may have been actually going for. In which case the lips should be angled in the same direction as the eyes from this high angle

It’s interesting that you made a feminine face with masculine lines, but yeah the line weight would be the saving grace here. For example the line between the lips should be darker to indicate compression and the hair shouldn’t have more line weight than the skin because the skin is flesh, which is weighty, compared to hair, which appears lighter in this image

First time I’ve been in a flow state while drawing in about a year, very fun.
Any recs for drapery hatching studies? I usually copy Dürer’s pillows, some of Leyendecker’s drawings, and also Range Murata’s pencil sketchbooks.

Can someone with a really big and impressive brain help me with the colours? struggling to pick nice colours for the home interior.

Everything I try always looks very messy and clustered. Though that might just be from my lack of skill when it comes to drawing backgrounds in general tbf

try looking at the show background for reference in color schemes, or take screenshots of the background and then bring to your drawing software and change hue/value/saturation until you find your prefered pallete.

Imo on the left her big eye draws attention directly to her face. On the right there's less of a focal point. Also left has a more obvious expression, she looks concerned while the right could be sleepy, lust, etc.

start by simplifying the total space to a 3 step notan that has a color harmony you like then try to distinguish local objects without disrupting the big 3 steps you established. Here's a quick mock up of the idea with the 3 steps I picked in the middle.

i'm going to take the controversial opinion and say right is better. Its problem is that she is not looking at him but off into the distance, where as left she is looking up at him. I also like right more because she has a concerned expression which makes me think the guy is kinda dangerous which is hotter.
