/dbag/ - Digital Brushes and Assets General
>Publicly editable rentry for CSP assets.
https://rentry.org/CSP_materials
Feel free to contribute brushes you have purchased. Assets that have been deleted from the store are also welcome to be uploaded here.

>CSP assets store wishlist.
https://rentry.org/Brush_Wishlist

>"How do I request brushes?"
1.) Please check the CSP rentry and encoded external rentry first before requesting them in the thread.
2.) If they aren't there, then you should ask the thread.
3.) Post a link of the brushes you're requesting. It will make it faster for the anons interested in purchasing them for the thread.

>"What brush does this artist use?" / "What brush looks like this?"
1.) Search "brush (from:artisthandle)" or "assets.clip-studio.com (from:artisthandle)" on twitter if that's where they post mainly. Make sure to set it to the Latest tab to see the artist's tweets. Or use Nitter.
2.) Search brush posts on their Pixiv Fanboxes/Booth/Patreon. Then try to see if it's on kemono or archives.
3.) If none of the searches work, then ask here.

>"My CSP is cracked so I can't use the asset store"
As long as you log into the asset store it works even on cracked copies.

>"Are there other brush sets aside from the CSP ones?" / "Has this brush set been uploaded before?"
Check the archive. Chances are if it's popular some anon has uploaded it already.

>"What brush is in the OP picture?"
Brush in the OP pic is in the CSP assets rentry. (ID:2138539)

I guess they fed the machine art pieces by Wamudraws. Their brushes are on the external and I guess if you want to achieve that texture you could use a noise gradient on multiply(?)
If anyone has any better suggestions let me know as well cause I'm interested to see if a brush like this exists.

Sometimes it's not necessarily the brush. Try using a paper texture, put it as the top most layer, then use the overlay or through option. Adjust the opacity as you see it fit.

Take a default circle brush and turn the brush density down to 10% and opacity to 90-100%. You can add some noise or texture but that's optional. Feels like drawing with a nice, smooth 2B pencil. Keep your grip loose as well.

i forgot to say, your mystery app is probably literally the window for csp. if you use a time tracker (like neil cicierega's, or anything else) and check the 'program' name, it's that, the GUID. you can also probably find it thru your registry.
the crack used to have a separate version for multilanguage vs chinese, but csp integrated it all for 4.1, so that's why the password stuff is suddenly there. it was there a long time ago, just not in the multilanguage version.

to clarify some things:

-procreate won't tell me the texture name, nor does it highlight it on the source library and i can't eyeball either it so finding the filename with a text editor seems to be a must if your goal is trying to reverse engineer a brush. unless there's a fuckery going on because my ipad is small small

artrage: i can't say i hate it, but it hasn't improved remarkably for about a decade and half. as of right now the program is more crafty than arty. i feel like in spite of less customization realistic paint studio is a better execution of the artrage idea, and rebelle put the final nail. might be abandonware as well, last time i saw them they were promoting either aislop or nftslop

artstudio pro: amazing app. more people should know about artstudio pro. if you aren't doing comics or animation (you could still do both, but you'd need to create templates for the former and you'd be stuck with flipbook animation with latter) i'd rather buy lifetime artstudio pro than monthly/yearly clip studio paint. better pigment mixing, compatible with a looot of photoshop files. and i don't know how to put this, but it has features that made me feel like they begged actual artists for feedback, and you might feel like that too, it has a freemium version with no ads but if you quit/your ram gets tested things get reset

paintstorm studio: amazing app. more people should know about paintstorm studio. insane customization in both ui and the brush engine. it needs to make gestures more intuative, is missing pigment mixing, barrel roll modifiers and .abr file import on mobile versions, for some reason the ui element for that one remains despite not working. paintstorm studio, along with it's little brother realistic paint studio might be abandonware, last update is years ago for both

tayasui sketches: i like it, but it also feels like a concepts alternative for people that can't afford it. speaking of...

concepts: i like it, but i think concepts is more for architect/industrial design people than painter people. infinite canvas vectoral stuff might also not be for everyone. it's monetization is perfect in terms of but buying the lifetime aspects of the concepts can get sooo expensive
Anonymous No.7710663
>>7710662

infinite painter: when it works it works extremely well, when it doesn't it's hell on earth. works way better on android than ipados. i like using it on android but the ipados version feels like using a knockoff version of it. if they import the android ui to ipados and fix the jitter wobble issue that is not present on android, and add global stabilization on top, it's a decent procreate alternative. proko pencil ftw

artstudio pro and infinite painter lack the community clip studio paint and procreate have. at least the former can import .abr/.tpl files to leech of off photoshop's community. clip studio paint had precursors in illuststudio, comicstudio or mangastudio in western markets, and retasstudio so they had tons of time to build a community, and for procreate i can't exactly comment, around the time procreate was released on ios is around the time i had an apple exodus, i don't think it was the only art app around at the time though. i guess they just got really lucky

When someone draws hands like that, they actually try to make them look symmetrical, yet for some reason her left hand's middle finger is shorter like it was chopped, it would be really weird for a human to make such mistake.
The overlay texture is quite uneven like when you use a stamp tool, most notable on her dress.
You can see slightly some artifacts in the lineart on the tip of her inner ears, no brush would do that on a single stroke.
The hatching of her dress' skirt is really wonky and "melts" away like AI usually does.
Her non-existant stump feet could be stylization? But I very much doubt it, being a Sonic character at that.

Oh, and of course, reverse searching the picture shows brings no original.
Anonymous No.7712076

Melting lines despite the image supposedly giving off a finished polish are a dead giveaway. Also there's traces of artifacts around some areas of the image. No artist worth their salt would make mistakes like these unless they were meant to look intentional with their style

Hello, good afternoon. I wanted to ask if you could help me get this brush. I really like it and have been trying to find it for a while. It's a CSP brush, but even when I type its name into the search engine, I can't find it. I searched for it on the deleted assets page, and it's not there either.

Name the brush: ηΌη†±η«ε±±γƒ‘γƒƒγ‚―γ‹γ™γ‚Œγƒ©γ‚€γƒ³

Question for you folks if you have used Rebelle 8

How much of an improvement are the new bristle brushes?

I'd share if there were an easier way to do so than having to screenshot every single brush setting + tell you where to find the brushshape/elemap+texture. I have lots of brushes i've collected over the years. They're all mostly stuff you can find on your own though or from some artists that still used it at the time.
