anyone have any experience with pencil grips? i death grip my pens/pencils like a retarded chimp and it makes my hand hurt afterwards so i was looking into different ergonomic grips. pic related is made for literal toddlers but genuinely looks like it would be kind of comfortable for drawing. and yes it also looks like a sex toy but that's not my primary interest

Why triangular pyramid? Why not rectangular bases?
How about prisms? With triangular and other polygon bases.

The choice of 5 shapes is arbirtary as fuck.

Lol, man that's gay. Truck nuts for artists.

I also death grip, just stretch your hand every hour or so. Soft foam grips feel nicer than hard rubber ones if you're deathgripping, like a lot nicer since it doesn't change how you grip just absorbs your retardation a little - but I'll be honest I just can't be fucked to keep them on, just dealing with the ache is easier.

can someone explain to me why some people have this problem? What are they doing wrong?
I heard an absolute horror story of a tranny who went to FZD School of Design who then fucked up his hand so hard in the first half year he had to grip the stylus with a wrapped thick towel and shake his hand every few seconds.

There's plenty of people drawing all day who never had problems with their hands. I know at least one guy who draws 10 hours a day who doesn't do anything for his hands, no stretching, no exercise, no fancy stylus holders. He's been at it for years, too.

3D objects = forms (ball, pyramid, cuboid)
2D objects = shapes (rectangle, circle, triangle)

the author probably didn't expect people to get confused about this this early in the book, so he used them interchangeably here.

I don't get the point of these. The OP at least seems like it's designed to force you to draw from the elbow or shoulder instead of the wrist by allowing you to hold the pencil in an unnatural way. These just seem like you need grip assistance.
Anonymous No.7704078
