It's actually fucking real
I bought a drawing tablet in 2020 and only drew when I felt like it (like once a week/every other week) and I'm still a pre-/beg/ with atrocious art. Weird thing is I thought about drawing everyday and constantly read blogs and watched videos about drawing, but have nothing to show for it even though it feels like I should. Now I'm approaching my 30s still at pre-/beg/ levels. What I'm saying is if you don't actually draw and practice consistently you won't get good and it'a weird seeing that actually manifest in your life. I'm genuinely not shitposting I wasted so much time aiiiee

Not really. You just need to build insight. You can get insight just drawing in your head a lot.

This is some insidious and subtle crabbing. Very sneaky, good job!
Yes, OP and any other anon reading, what he says; don't draw, just think really hard about drawing! Surely if you think hard enough... you'll get better, pfft.

This was her first ever painting. She read books on color theory and applied it.

Practice is a WAY of gaining insight. You can practice till the cows come home and make zero progress, and you can practice very little and make tons of progress. The only thing that matters is how much insight you actually have.

me too man but i just draw for fun though. im 30 now. Unless you aim to be a professional then your art level literally doesnt matter really. Just keep drawing, practicing and have fun with the process.

If you plan to be pro, then you need more discipline and study practice though :(

Are you autistic and browsing 4chan 24/7? It might be contributing to the lack of will for drawing.

What are the last video games/anime/ect you watched? Try drawing something for these instead of forcing yourself on something you don't want to do

It's her 'first ever' charcoal drawing, not first ever drawing.
A non-artist would be symbol drawing and not drawing from reference aka what she called sight-size theory

>draw in your head
And waste all that good drawing energy? Are you retarded? You're supposed to save all that energy to release it later on one big masterpiece, and the longer you wait, the better that drawing will be.

even better, you get your supplies, get your references, start to sketch, but always stop before getting anywhere
do it multiple times, to accumulate all the creative juices, so when you finally finish a drawing it'll overflow everywhere

we can call it drooning or something

let's see you practice.
If it doesn't help your thesis about needing to practice is also wrong!

It'll come down to talent and technique.
