Then you'd be an enjoyGOD. It's not hard if you enjoy it, then it's leisure.

I'm tired. I've been drawing every day happily and I don't have it in me to draw today. The idea of drawing for another 2 hours minimum feels like climbing mount everest. I can only draw when I'm hyper motivated.

draw in 30 minute bursts
Anonymous No.7729523 [Report] >>7729524
>>7729515
drawing for 30 minutes is the same as drawing for 2 hours. They both take the same amount of energy to start. stopping after 30 minutes leaves you with an unfinished drawing that is useless, so its a waste of time. Then you need to spend another chunk of energy starting again for another 30 minutes to try and finish it, that's twice as much work as just one 2 hour session.

Anyone who thinks drawing is "work" is so NGMI. Why the fuck would you draw if you don't enjoy it?

>Be Itagaki
>learning Kenpo (kung fu) as a teen
>Got a degree for it
>Joined Japanese military in his young adult life
>Started amateur boxing after that
>By 30 he decided to say fuck it all and make the most bat shit insane not gay but gay fighting manga/national pride fanfiction.
>Teaches his tomboy chicken daughter the same drawing autism so she can make buff Santa fanfiction
Itagaki is truly the man I wish to aspire to be in comic art. Its silly of me to say it but his work has the type of autism that scratches the brain right while lighting a fire for my /fit/ martial arts side. Say what you want about him. Call his drawings gay, stupid or unappealing but the man made this stuff for 30 years and it put a roof over his wife and daughters heads and now he's got grandkids and his daughter, Paru is becoming just as successful as him. I know it's cringe gushing about him but I hope I can reach his level of human anatomy and art skills. Though with less of the rape autism stuff lol.

I only feel like that when im struggling with ideas for what to draw but from what your saying I'm guessing your just bored. If you wanna excuse to burn time try to do some drawing exercises to keep your mind sharp.
Anonymous No.7730119 [Report]
ive seen no-draws get more work as icon makers with their non-existent skills than a lot of grinders. I grind for fun though

I think the trick is to follow what Milt Kahl said, "I can't think of 2 things at once". I've started to train myself to turn off the music and the Youtube videos on the side. I've started at 10 minute intervals, with the goal of going 2 hours while only focusing on art.

I don't understand why you guys feel like drawing is work. It's all I want to do, all day long. The first thing I do in the morning, after making tea, is draw. What do you guys feel is the main block?

I thought the same but Baki is one of the most entertaining things I've read in the past years and the art style is perfect for all the goofy shit that happens in it.

Because you aren't shit at it. Overcoming the being shit stage is the most important for learning anything.

This is what happens when an entire country studies Burne Hogarth instead of Loomis. Pick your teachers carefully, anons.

hogarth is way better than loomis because atleast you learn WHY forms interact with each other and why volume is important.

Because it feels like it stopped mattering. Not to the world, that's too grandiose. Some how the drawing stopped mattering to me. I don't think there is anything I could do all day and feel good after.

Every time I see this image posted as a response to someone frustrated about their lack of progress, 90% of the people using it are terrible. They’re only 'happy' because they never actually study or try to improve past the /beg/ level. They're just passing off ignorance as superiority. The 'I’m happy because I don’t care' mindset is pure Dunning-Kruger bullshit.

The reality is if you want to improve, you have to work hard. And for most people, work isn’t fun and never will be. But improvement only comes from putting in the work.

I see that too on here and it's why I don't even post anymore except for asking about info, tools or just praising good art. This board gives ass advice and most people here don't even know basic studying or practice.
>The reality is if you want to improve, you have to work hard
Yep, every skill requires discipline. If you enjoy discipline and hard work then your doing it right.
