I noticed that Hide's course it's basically Hampton.
I never touched a pencil before so i started with Krenz 0 + boxes exercises and I'm planning to continue with Hampton gestures > Hampton figures > Hampton Heads > Hide

I'm doing the Krenz basic course and his boxes sheet exercises, after that i'm planning to continue with Hampton and then Hide. I'll not do any other course from proko.
I'm curious about why some prefer Hampton old course from CGMA over the new one.

one dude here is obsessed with krenz but that method works, it's brute forces accuracy which is the whole point of the course. lots of people here never improve because they can't copy anything accurately. which is why it's his level 0 course. if you developed decent accuracy already then you don't need to do it. but doing some of the exercises to the best of your ability is a good test of your skills.

Making animations on social media is just step 0, even if millions of people watch it you still won't earn a single dollar. Getting all those people who watch you for free to give you money is a skill on its own. And if you want to make anything more ambitious than 5-10 second loops you will need to build a team and manage people.

One example of someone earning a livng partly through their animations is 1924us . But their animations are just a hook to get people into their store. They get all their money from selling physical merch. (And they also do branding for other people it seems).

In a world focused on minimizing expenses and maximizing profit (I would assume) that you need to be on top of your marketing game to even get any jobs were you to start an animation studio/agency. And in the end you would just become the boss who pays the lowest amount possible to animators while doing less and less animation yourself.
