Nah, I believe that art jobs are still increasing at present? If you're worried about AI, while the future is vague in that regard, the current issues plaguing industries such as animation are forces beyond (and older than) AI... mostly incompetence, but also just plain ol' corporate greed ("why make domestic productions when we can get cheaper foreign ones?").
As for why people aren't talking about 'making it' as much. I've noticed there's a heavy push back now on those who say it, from not only the indians espousing their new AI god, but a lot of faggots on here who have given up and now demand others also only treat art as a hobby - so sour grapes essentially, like the faggot above me (who I assume is posting bait, or he really is a loser beyond redemption).
If you ARE worried about AI, don't forget that a door opens for every one that closes; if AI really does destroy the animation industry, the video game industry, can make decent comics, etc etc, is that really something for artists to fear? Fuck that. If AI can be used to replace the employee, it can be used to replace the employer.
Why do you need to join a big animation studio when a small team (or an individual) can make a quality animated feature film with AI?
Why do you need to join a video game company, if you can use AI to make solo development that much easier?
Why stress about the work that goes into making a comic when an AI could ink and colour it for you, seriously reducing your workload?
AI is only a threat until the jobs are gone, and then it's a weapon against the very corporations that made its employees redundant in favour of it.
I don't even think AI will do that, I think it's overblown by a bunch of curry eating hype men, but my point is that there's no reason to think things are bleak.
Rise above the tear stained losers, forge your own path if there isn't one.
To all those who put in the effort? We're all gonna make it.
