Bro I rank in the top pixiv and I've been a commerical artist for 10 years. Maybe I'm so high iq I think "It's just snow" but I need to be mid-iq to explain the nuances of shape, flow, color, and reflection to you.

If you want an explanation, look. The snow in the piece has form. It is desatueated. It does not compete with the characters. The grays and reflective light trend purple and blue, because it brings out color. It has large bulky forms to not compete with interest with the small flowy details with the main characters. It has high contrast but not as high as the foreground. It has balanced values to sink in the background - Variety and uniqueness would draw attention. Is that what you wanted me to explain? This stuff is obvious if you do a study, which I have in the past and hence why I explain it now. I think it is low iq of you to assume "hurrr I just can't see the difference." I make backgrounds for video games and commissions so this stuff is intuitive to me, maybe that's why I think it's bizarre to think it's hard.

>Bro I rank in the top pixiv
Bro, I rank in the top Pixiv. You really think you can just waltz into my comment section, call my anatomy “off,” and walk away unratioed? LMAO. Think again, zoomer. As we speak, I’m screenshotting your entire gallery for a full-scale redline teardown. Your fundamentals? Dogwater. Your lighting? Traced from a Pinterest photo. Your sense of perspective? Nonexistent.

I’ve been grinding art reps since before Clip Studio added timelapse. I’ve topped more art threads than you’ve posted sketches. I studied under Japanese artists you can’t even name, and my brush engine settings are classified. You think your five followers and your soulless AI render give you clout? Pathetic.

I’ve done color studies that made pros cry. I’ve rendered reflections so clean you could see the fear in your own eyes. You call that linework? I’ve seen smoother strokes from /beg/ threads. My compositions are divine geometry, my palettes mathematically weaponized.

You think you’re safe behind your little watermark? Think again. As we speak, I’m cooking a collab piece that will vaporize your engagement and make you look like a DeviantArt relic. Your post history? Archived. Your artstation? Doomed. Your entire online presence? Thanos-snapped by my brush tool.

Enjoy your temporary dopamine hits while you can, kiddo. Once my next drop hits /r/AnimeArt and retweets start chaining, you’ll be nothing but a cautionary tale told to beginners: “Don’t mess with the top Pixiv.”

Are you talking about the backgrounds? It's just a realistic drawing/rendering, rather than being particularly "anime", though anime often uses such realistic backgrounds.
Given it's a commercial production, it wouldn't even surprise me if the background was traced.

truth nova. in Japan, snow works differently, to draw proper anime you have to live in Japan. /ic/ will always be a bunch of goyjins until they actually move to Japan and experience it for themselves

it's the matte look of poster paint and the fact that background artists are usually veterans

Picrel is a uniquely Japanese way of depicting snow. OP's image shows a typical animation background that probably wasn't even digitally painted/photobashed in Japan as most of that work is outsourced.

I can't imagine how nice it must feel to hold your imouto Nezuko in your arms. She's so cute. She must feel so smooth and soft and warm to the touch, and her long hair so pretty must feel like the finest silk. Imagine the sheer magnitude of the love Tanjiro must feel toward her. There is honestly, nothing more beautiful than two beautiful siblings loving each other. It's without a doubt, the purest form of love, and it's why Demon Slayer is the greatest anime ever made. Despite it being a commercial work driven by executive meddling, it taps into the deepest root of human aeshtetics: a beautiful boy, and his beautiful sister, being beautiful together, close but pure, never engaging at a carnal level, despite all of nature's laws demanding that they copulate passionately, cause beautiful people ought to fuck, especially when the backgrounds as so beautifully drawn. It's a case of love overwhelming all else, Tanjiro is so pure, and Nezuko is so pure, they're both channeling their sexual passion through the unspoken acts of brotherly love they share. It's almost as beautiful as seeing them one of top of each other against that pretty snow environment, Tanjiro on top of her, Nezuko's kimono parted just enough to reveal her perky youthful breasts, kissing and loving each other and holding hands as they climax, skin against skin, their sibling hearts close together. God, I wish that were me.

It's true. When you look at Japanese snowflakes under a microscope, it's all little kawaii uguu faces looking happy.
