Hey anon, let's draw this for practice. /ic/ collectively did this one years ago and that thread was a lot of fun.

nta but why is this significant to you?
Anonymous No.7781769 [Report]
>>7781764
well, i took about 2 hours, i'd like to know if he took longer or less for his cleaner output, despite digital probably aiding in speedy results

It took about an hour and a half. I painted the whole thing with a soft airbrush, making it smaller/larger depending on the edge.
the soft brush might also explain the masculine/feminine aspect, it wasn't intentional, I'd need to spend longer making more defined planes here and there.

Mechanical pencil is really bad for this.
Anonymous No.7781842 [Report]
>>7781792
just a manner of putting in the time i guess, i use mine mostly for doodling in general but not for piecework or shadow and value practice like this head is good for. good effort though, trying is half the battle

I'm a /BEG/ and I don't draw since june because I thought that drawing is boring but I just realized that it's actually fun, I was focusing too much on improving instead of having fun like now, thanks OP.

I know the proportions are off, but critique is welcome.

fun is crucial
>>7782220
you made it your own. i wouldve just sold it as a stylized version instead of being honest, heh. you shouldnt dismiss the shadows, they will help you angle and size up everything. it might take a lot longer, but every bit that helps will pay off in the end. drawing a shadow heavy portrait almost feels like cheating to me, because you have so many shapes that help you check your shit and it just looks better in general.
Anonymous No.7782230 [Report]
>>7782225
The shadows are a good point. Always scared of the steep render learning curve but blocking in shadows isn't that hard. Thank you.

courtesy bump and consider this a (You) to all the anons above me. i dont want to force a critique, all you have to do is follow the references shapes to get to the goal and trying is half the battle. if you feel like it wasnt enough, do it again and again and again.

Just call it bad, bro, goddamn. No need to be a pretentious faggot about it.

not like someone using wigger vernacular would understand why it's not good to be overly critical, not just for the receiver but also the one who places himself above others. anyone who is "bad" already knows it, all they need to do is keep trying.

>anyone who is "bad" already knows it
then what's the point of your original post
I'd rather have a dozen unabashed crabs than a single one of your weasly, virtue-signaling, faggot kind
at least the crabs are honest in their intent

I'm pretty much a lineart-only kind of guy, super dogshit at shading, plus my work stopped resembling him halfway into this exercise so I pimped moustache nigga out a bit, took a few creative liberties...

Cool subject matter by the way, OP, there's something about moustache nigga that makes him a charming choice, surely it's not the 'stache alone that instills such presence?
