Why is it that drawing men is so much easier than drawing women?
Am i bisexual or something.........

men look good no matter what, but women need to look beautiful, which is hard.

I find it the opposite. I think my men come out girly.

i'm a fit guy and i do have a toned body, i guess having my own body as reference makes it easier for me to draw men, specially if they have a toned body

idk shits crazy

I find it a lot easier to draw women. More pronounced curves are easier to draw consistently and serve as better visual landmarks, that's why animation tends to favor giving women giant tits and tiny waists.

yeah, their body are much more compact with close landmarks, i can actually draw them, but it takes much longer than drawing a male body, it's so frustrating

Males a way harder to draw. It’s easy to fuck up a male body just like >>7785295
said. Hell, you can still draw twink by just drawing him like you would do a women with a few slight adjustments and it would still work.

related, why is it so hard to draw children in a semi realistic style, non anime? they look like gremlins. pro comic artists fuck it up all the time.

similar to woman, children have soft features, so too many lines will turn them into uncanny monsters

a "pretty woman" has a higher margin of error

hol up, this actually makes sense........

It's especially visible with caricatures. Even intentionally freaky-looking adults are passable, but keeping adult features on a child face (large forehead, chubby cheeks) fucks it up completely.

men are allowed to be ugly, which makes them cooler

Most memorable and well designed characters these days a female characters, and when male characters are drawn, they feel so bog standard basic, that they seem like an afterthought.

Funnily enough this problem was the opposite not too long ago - women were either never drawn, or drawn poorly, and all the cool character were male... Oh how the turns have tabled...

it's not though. yeah, you may be gayer than not.
if you think about it, men are technically not more difficult to draw than women, and vice versa.

I'm thinking about all those dudes who cry about female characters with prominent chins; there does seem to be a much more narrow range of what's acceptable for female character design.

Those guys can just tell that something is wrong but don’t know how to express it. It’s not that women’s anatomy is harder to draw. The problem is that you have to know how to draw trendy fashion, hair styles and make-up and they have to be current and up to date or they will look wrong. Most male faces are pretty timeless except for maybe facial hair and hair styles. For women you have to know at least a little bit about makeup but a lot of guys don’t. Think about it for a second. Women spend an hour putting on makeup to change the way their features look by just a few mm here and there, and you think you can just go and draw whatever and it will look good?

Well, here's quick example of someone doing it: >>7775829
What do you feel looks wrong with the face, to the point it get's the cliche tranny joke made about it?
Though I will agree that fashion and makeup knowledge will help in drawing women - and men too for that matter.

NTA but her mannerisms ruin it. If she frowned or gave a confident smile instead of shyly grinning like a gremlin, she'd look infinitely better. That kind of thing matters when you draw women with more masculine features. Her childish hairstyle also doesn't work well there, especially with that tranny stare.

Anything is acceptable in female character design if you realize that the opinions of random normies don't matter and never will

Women are easier because you're encouraged to draw heavy abstractions of them. Big eyes small waist and shoulders, facial structure of a teenager at most, large hips, small hands and feet. All of it is exaggerated to the point that art books figures are heavily exaggerated and even the figure photography is toe pointed, stomach sucked in, face full of make up bullshit are far as the eye can see. This is why so many dumbass accuse natal women of being trans for being not muh 4ft nothing teenage Asian girls.

You wanna see an art challenge an not draw on easy mode your whole life trying drawing a beautiful male that a woman would find attractive. You need strong sense of fundies, appeal + stylzation, and hint of androgynous features.

>tfw can draw both sexes, of any age, with any amount of muscle and bodyfat (except morbidly obese)
feels good

For me it is easier to draw woman. No idea why but when I draw men it usually looks like picrel

>>7785349
yeah think about it
making an eye a little higher or lower is immediately noticeable
a nose to big or small sticks out
even how you draw things people look at like if lines are to harsh
very rarely is someone intentionally trying to draw an ugly woman so these are things people will critique

people have more tolerance for a man with a misaligned face, or lines to thick, etc...

>>7786202
yeah, i find drawing animal portraits also much easier and forgiving, you can get away with designing things

Cuz hardly anyone plans to masturbate to drawn men - thus the characters are fine with some imperfections.
