There are three things to understand about them.

-No you can't have one as a pet, they are not sociable like dogs, leave them alone.

-If you see one, there's probably the a part of the pack where you can't see them.

If you are a farmer/shepherd and live in a region populated by wolves, it's on you deterring them from attacking your cattle, get some mastiffs, they are bred for this.
