yes, after the rail construction california had hundreds of chinatowns because they weren't allow to live among whites or take white jobs or have white people use their businesses, de jure segregation so they had their own little community
by the early 1900s there were only a handful, in the years in between tens of thousands of chinese people were brutally evicted and/or murdered, the chinatowns burned to the ground, pushing them all into the handful of chinatowns left in the few cities, this is the history they will never teach you
