I fucking hate my country's media and news

A couple of days ago there were protests and infighting in a town called Torre Pacheco in Murcia because a group of moroccans beat an old man for the sake of it. Some independent reporters and youtubers went to the town to show what was happening and stream it, which were mostly protests by the neighbours, small riots by young moroccans and the occasional confrontation between spaniards and moroccans. The media was constantly talking about neonazi and extremist groups causing caos even though the youtubers were streaming what was happening. Later those youtubers were kicked out of the town by the police probably by order of the minister of Interior (internal affairs) supposedly because they couldn't "guarantee their safety", but it really was just to stop them from recording

Also yesterday a 20 year old moroccan illegal squater burned 95% of a 17 year old girl's body and you have the media covering up his nationality, avoiding talking about it or using it to blame it on "men on women" violence

How tired are you of your country's news outlets? Here every mainstream TV report is like this, some of them financed by public taxes

Mate our media is run by actual spastics, the decline in quality in the last few years is fucked

Having read a lot of English history and lit, I think by the time the Tudors were about (and even earlier) the national character and culture of the English as a people had formed into essentially its modern form. It's really striking when you read it and all I can think is that this is just modern English people but centuries in the past. I imagine much is the same in Spain and France by this time too. And I know in Germany there were strong ideas of it emerging. I would say rather that an Englishman today has more in common with one in the 1500's than an Arab or Congolese immigrant

I feel more and more like we are living in a war of information and propaganda, everything is so disingenous. For example, the way so many big news channels reported on the illegal inmigrants being deported by ICE while trying to portray the action as ruthless and fascist clearly gives you an image of the reality that some of those outlets want

Another example is Brexit, which was basically a war of oligarchs and media moguls trying to get rid of the EU by printing as much anti-EU propaganda as possible over the years for the boomers who can't even use Google to eat up

Of course there was always some place for political propaganda and manipulation but I'm very distrustful of most mainstream media nowadays, you can't trust a single thing
