Well yea it is pretty cruel. For some reason all across Europe extreme punishments into being in the Later Middle Ages for horrible offenses
(or at least what they thought were). You have the Pole here >>213833867 talking about the Munster cages but how the Munster leaders were killed was actually by an hour long torture session where they ripped out their flesh with searing hot tongs, they had their tongues ripped out and finally killed by stabbing in the heart.

Having read a lot of English history and lit, I think by the time the Tudors were about (and even earlier) the national character and culture of the English as a people had formed into essentially its modern form. It's really striking when you read it and all I can think is that this is just modern English people but centuries in the past. I imagine much is the same in Spain and France by this time too. And I know in Germany there were strong ideas of it emerging. I would say rather that an Englishman today has more in common with one in the 1500's than an Arab or Congolese immigrant

Nigga you ai generated a wojak. All you literally need to do is use ms paint but instead you made a piss tinted wojak.
And no, I read classics because they are interesting, I don't read shit I wouldn't like personally. Which is why I don't read modern classics from the 18-19th century and only the ancients.

I get the appeal. I have it in my story kind of as a foil, or really just a comedic difference. The characters that I want to follow are from a world where they don't have any special moves or names, it's just combat to them. But they're in Wuxia China and everybody has crazy weird names for how they fight like Soaring Dragon Sword or more silly things.

Why do immigrants in the UK speak in a pidgin English rather than just normal English. They are borderline incomprehensible.
