Do you have any idea how "Uzbek" ethnicity even came to be? Anyone, who didn't have Mongolian overlord called themselves Uzbek - even people from Tajik or Tatar tribes. USSR coined it into a different ethnicity (which it isn't). Uzbek is a compound nationality for all different people who lived in roughly this area (like an American)

There are plenty of kazakh living in Tashkent who call themselves Uzbeks for some bizarre reason. My mother in law is from Kazakhstan, looks kazakh, speaks a weird mix of kazakh and Uzbek, yet calls herself Uzbek. Tashkent was part of Kazakhstan for ages too
