The map is a shit representation of his text , but overall Franklin was pretty accurate. Even Scandinavians are darker in complexion than people from the British Isles, who are the palest in the world. The only thing he gets wrong is the artificial division of Saxons from other Germans, probably because he wrongly assumed British paleness came from the Anglo Saxons and not prehistoric invaders.

Irish people are the most white
