iberian colonies couldn't even trade with each other, they had to trade with the trading office in madrid and then the trading office decides what colony gets what, keep them poor on purpose, sorry but that is a very bad case humanity in my opinion

this. meanwhile the Brits almost drove themselves into financial ruin and drove worldwide industrialization by autistically pushing for free trade. they were like America pre-Trump but without the fiat currency buffer. America and Germany in particular exploited this to industrialize through unfair trade policy.

Fuck off retard

The Spanish came for the British Empire first in the American revolution and then the Americans ate the Spanish empire

The British Empire was the greatest force the world has ever known and the largest empire in human history. It spread civilisation and innovation and science. Canada, Australia, and New Zealand are some of the best countries in the world.

The Spanish empire spread superstition and race-mixing. Magic and mutts. Pathetic scum. The Spanish helped create the USA out of spite and turned all of the Americas south of Canada into a brown violent irrelevant third world shithole.

Britain's influence on the world has been civilisation and freedom while Spain's influence on the world has been cancer and oppression. Britain is the nation of science that abolished slavery. Spain is the nation of religion that failed to achieve greatness beyond stealing gold from enslaved south American natives.

I can understand that you are a proud of your country and that is good but most of what you have said are lies, starting with the largest empire and the greatest force the world has ever known.

70% of your territory was Canada and Australia that even today 90% of their territories in uninhabited. It is like setting a foot in Groenlandia and claim all their territory for the "empire".

Spanish Empire created civilization like the Roman Empire. 40 universities, 50 Unesco World Heritage sites, hundreds of new cities, hospitals, schools, roads, aqueducts, etc.

We gave them a language, laws, traditions.

We did the biggest and most influential exchange on history that changed the world forever

We ruled over half of Europe (70% of Italy, parts of France, Netherlands, Belgium, Lietchestein, parts of Switzerlands).

And we did it in wooden ships while you already had steam ships.

Our Empire lasted for 408 years, yours for 150.

Again, I am not antiEnglish (I even like many Engish people, your cars, your music, etc) and I support and defend that every proud person can show the pride for his country.

unbelievable kek
>70% of your territory was Canada and Australia that even today 90% of their territories in uninhabited. It is like setting a foot in Groenlandia and claim all their territory for the "empire".
Most of the Spanish Empire was uninhabited and/or unadministered territories in South America, most of the Mongol Empire was uninhabited tundra, most of the Roman Empire was poorly administered or uninhabited tribal lands.
>We ruled over half of Europe (70% of Italy, parts of France, Netherlands, Belgium, Lietchestein, parts of Switzerlands).
It inherited those, and left no mark on them aside from being humiliated and kicked out.
>And we did it in wooden ships while you already had steam ships.
No, Britain didn't have steam ships in the 16th century. Are you retarded?
>Our Empire lasted for 408 years, yours for 150
The British Empire beyond continental Europe began in the 1580s, and being charitable, ended in the 1960s (although we still maintain plenty of overseas possessions unlike Spain). The Spanish Empire was a completely spent force after the Napoleonic Wars.

What I said is true and you have just to open your eyes to see it. The only reason why people speak English in the USA, Canada or Australia is because tens of millions of Europeans arrived there from any single part of Europe. Those countries are Europe II.

We gave the language to the natives (the natives were like 90% of the people in all of America), gave them laws, traditions, etc.

Most of the Spanish Empire was inhabited. The Mexican civilization was the largest at that time in history. The same for the Incas and others.

You barely did nothing in Africa, Canada or Austrlia. Like 0.1% yet you claim if your your empire. That is 90% of the territory in your "empire". Your only "empire" was India and you won it bribing the high castes to work for you. You basically conquered nothing.

At least we ruled parts of Europe. You NEVER conquered anything in Europe. And the Tercios was the most powerful army in Europe for 150 years (not losing 1 single battle).

Your "empire" was from 1800s to 1950s and you had steam ships already.

Universities in America.

Did you build anything like this in your ""empire""?

We are the Top1 country in the world in number of Unesco World Heritage sites. 50 in Spain plus the 40 that we build around the world.

You basically built nothing as an "empire". Everything that USA, Canada, or Australia built was by their own and with their own money and with their own expertise, by local people (including many german, italian, irish americans)
