The orc/ogre in the germanic sagas was an evil servant of hell/cthonic forces, and that's why Orco was an etruscan cthonic deity. So in germanic lore the orc and the ogre split, the orc retaining the chtonic/supernatural aspect while the ogre the cannibalistic aspect, but they all come from the same central italian deity passed down to the romans and then from the romans to the romanized germanics.
