The first was my grand grand grandad, he was an officer and fought the austrians in the karst trenches, he survived and settled here. In the same war 3 men (uncles somethig) from another side of the family died fighting for AH, against the italians.

In ww2 my grand grandad was in Libya and then Ethiopia, there he was captured by the brits. My other unc was tortured and killed by yugo partisans (he was a blackshirt), the other two uncs (I dont think they were fasc or soldiers) killed a yugo partisan with a revolver and escaped to the italian area controlled by the allies and germans

both grandpas in ww2, well actually one grandpa was part of british occupation force in germany after the war and didnt see much combat during the war except some errands for the resistance.
great grandpas i dont really know, one ran food and ammo supplies for his future son in law, my grandpa that fought. one was police and military officer and tried to mobilize but no one came (mΓΈring's are such cowards) one pretend to know nothing and gave fire coordinates to his son in secret. one was right in the middle of a battle and kept on farming, bullets flying some are still left in his house. hid some refugees for a while.
ww1 wasnt really a thing here.

Not really. I think my great grandpa fought in the balkan war at Luleburgaz but I don't know anything else
In some village there was a war memorial for the villagers who died in ww1 and there was one guy with the same surname as my dad (it's a really rare surname). I've been thinking of asking around the village if they know someone with that name

great grandad was in the signal corps and thought in italy and north african. tried to go awol got put on a ship in the med and another deserter jumped into the sea and probably died. also met his cousin while in cairo.

had some war loot including a bust of hitler but was lost when the truck it was in got blown up. when in occupied austria he and mate were ordered to take down a chandelier in a mansion for some officer to take home but they decide to "accidentally" drop it instead thus breaking it. years later after the war he threw all his medals away

Yes both, great grandfather fought the Italians at Isonzo in WW1, both gramps at the eastern front, one got captured in Stalingrad, other one got injured then was transferred to the Balkans serving as halftrack driver for Division Brandenburg who fought against Tito's partisans. When WW2 Was nearing it's end they abandoned their posts and moved to the West to surrender to the Americans. Step grandfather Was part of a Flak crew in France in Cherbourg in 43 and 44 until they surrendered to the Americans there, apparently life in France was pretty good and they got drunk alot.
