>it's just typical back in my day bullshit and it's present in every country
It's not really the same, is it now. It's not comparable between ours and the American ones.
Our old folks, whichever misses those days, do it because they were party members with exclusive privileges & that gave them a veneer/a high of power, even if petty; or they had power of execution (militsya, army, secret police...) and they miss the “tickle” when subordinates were addressing them with “Sir, yes sir!” or inspired token fear.
>obviously romanians probably don't look at it that way since you got gigafucked by the eastern bloc. yugoslavia was a good country.
I've stopped listening to disinformation clichés and started judging the person/character saying such affirmations, how much they profited (so to speak) under the regime, in what ways, capacity, magnitude etc.
Most often than not, these are made by ex-party members (usually nomenklatura), ex-militaristic types, ex-secret police torturers, ex-willing informants to the secret police, and so on.
Perhaps, you should do the same.
Perhaps, Tito is at fault for preparing the faulty groundwork that ended up as the “Break-up of Yugoslavia”.
Perhaps, because of Tito & systematically duped by him, your provincial political-military-secret police power players did the deed just as expected, willingly or unwillingly.
