Great fichi fren, i have a tree too but the fucking birds peck them and make a mess before I can harvest them so I can never eat them.

>>213874160
It's fairly common to see people, especially girls, who don't eat figs because they think they're disgusting o algo, also there's this urban legend that wasps and bees enter the fig through the bottom and get digested by the fruit, so if you eat one you're eating the insect too.. People are so stupid sometimes. Oh well, more fichi for me.

Same. I read you should give the burds some water nearby because they mainly eat fruits to get water and it worked but it did not stop them for sure

Idk, honestly, colloquially we call purple ones “ghvinia leghvi” i.e. the wine figs.
My favourite variety is called “guda leghvi”.
“Guda” is a type of bag (made of sheepskin) that the mountaineers ferment cheeses in or create the bagpipes with. So, it’s named after that.
It’s pretty large as you can see. And you can tell that they are ripe when they start having those characteristic “stretch marks”.

They're very good anon, they taste like strawberry with a shade of lemon, I don't know how to describe them but they're good.

Figbros, you eat them with the skin or not? I've seen different opinions about this
Anonymous France No.213875182
>The French word figue is borrowed from the Occitan figa for reasons of geographical origin and the lack of "body" of the old French fie which, like it, comes from a late Latin *fica for ficus "fig, fig tree" in classical Latin.

Unfortunately the latex ib the skin is too spicy for me, so I have to peel it

Ive never heard of a fig in Italy retaining the sap, that must be why they are so big there. Here you can eat them whole

Yes, some have thicker skins but they are still edible. They dont retain the tree's sap in them. Terronis even eat them green after cooking them

the big Guda skins are benign btw, you can eat them whole alright. When they are ripe, the latex is neutralized.
it’s the smaller, more berry-tasting ones whose skins are pungent
