It really isn't. I spent a lot of time both in Europe and North America and the United States McDonald's mogs them all. I think people just like to shit on America for no reason. It's like when people try and tell you that Coca-Cola in America is worse than Europe but then when you taste both you can clearly see the American coke having a far better and more rounded flavour due to the usage of corn syrup. Do a blind taste test and most people would pick American over European.
