I think they do get time off but it's not actually enforced by law, so it depends on your workplace/contract.

Every full time job here from grocery stores on up offers paid vacation after you’ve been working there for a year, usually about 2.5 to 3 weeks after a couple of years. That’s on top of the fact you get paid 2-3 times more than a European working the same job there. Vacation time is determined by the market just like wages, rather than by government mandate.
