Well first off the idea that our government, especially municipal mayors who don't have much power or initiative or incentive to improve anything and who only get into office thru nepotism because of their affiliations with the ruling party, would ever consider a project to make the average pleb's life, especially the bottom rung of society who are forced to live in this squalor and poverty in our classist society, any less painful than it is is honestly laughable and bordering on delusional.
Secondly even if they did plant trees; since this area's pretty far away from the nile, and surrounded by the concrete hellscape you saw in my image along with all of the necessary infrastructure underground to deliver amenities to all these buildings, they wouldn't grow on their own and we don't have enough rain for trees to grow. So they'd need to run some water pipes all along these roads and probably a decent sprinkler system as well to make sure these plants grow. The problem, other than it being expensive, is that the "people" in most of these neighborhoods would probably dig up the pipes AND wiring and sprinklers to take them apart and sell the parts for profit. And that's not even mentioning the fact that this soil is completely fucked from decades of various kinds of waste and building materials decomposing or being buried under the soil which would make it too toxic to grow plants.
Tl:dr our condition is a consequence of us being subhuman trash. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
