There is nothing outside of life other than biology. The only thing that matters is biology, you're naturally enclined to support your group and care for it. Not really accurate. Most fertility studies attribute the lowering of the fertility rate is not because couples are choosing less children. It's because less couples are forming. People being single or in non traditional relationships are the main contributor. Cohabitation rates have been dropping for a while now.

Again this just isn't true. The average couple don't have significantly fewer children than before. It's just that people aren't coupling as much any more. Combined with the fact that teenage pregnancies basically don't happen anymore in western countries. Now you can argue that the reduction in coupling is partially caused by high costs of living but it's happening in both high cost of living places and low cost of living places so it's clearly not the main reason.

I'll put it to you this way. In 1980 in my city and electrical engineer fresh out of school could make 25-30k and a house cost 100k. Now an electrical engineer leaves school and makes 60-70k on average and a house in my city cost over a million dollars

Boomers got an earlier start on life they didn't need to worry about cost of living and could start their families earlier and could do so off single income. Now you need to have a dual income home and basic housing is nearly impossible to afford. College tuition is like 100k over 4 years here so you need to prepare for that as well

Again if you were an actual adult in a real relationship you'd understand this. That having less children is largely an economic choice. The decline in birth rates in western countries is nearly entirely the middle class. Rich people can have lots of kids, poor people don't care if theor kids grow up poor because they did it themselves

Actually, children are pretty much free, and you even get PAID for having them in quite a few western countries that still have trouble breeding. Sweden is the prime example of this.

You can receive parental benefit while you are on parental leave if you are covered by social insurance in Sweden and if the child resides in Sweden, or lives in the EU/EEA or Switzerland.
