Don’t let women goad you into thinking you need them to be happy.

Disregarding the incelbaiting nature of this post, I do find that it is a lot harder to engage conversations with strangers in most western cultures. I wouldn't say I am that terrible at social interactions but most people just do not want to be bothered randomly. I think that very much plays into it especially as there are more negative reprecussions if the approach is of a romantic nature.
