The XIXth century was really awful for a lot of LATAM countries, it was a series of unfortunate events, that taken individual wouldnt harm a nation, but over the span of an entire century it really crippled us (ie not getting our independence aknowledged, getting our ports blocked every now & then, foreign invasions, internal civil wars, etc, etc)
