Yes. I liked everything except for the sphere system because it was essentially linear class based leveling with extra steps. The weapon modding system was fantastic I wish that was the core mechanic.

It was an integral part of my childhood. I wouldn't be the same person that I am now had I not experienced it, and this is in spite of the fact that I did not know much English back then and struggled to understand a lot of the dialogue.

I got the game in French because my family was on holiday in France when it came out. Did help me a lot with elementary school French. I know like 50 words at most but I know to shout VOLEEEEEEEUR when a blackie in Brussels is trying to rob me which has happened more than once. My game always crashed at the Seymour sky palace scene where Tidus is doing his cool heely grind flip thing thing. I beat that one boss before the cutscene like at least 20 times lol

the next ff i played was 7. ive played a lot of other final fantasies but never actually finished any besides 7 and 10, which ive done many times. never played more than half of 8 or 9

Mmm tbf I never played VIII so no strong opinion it always crashed after the first Ifrit fight or even during the intro movie. (I think this was a common issue with the game) IX is one of my favorites though along with X and VII

Fair enough I was too young to really get the story anyways since the game is in English and i played it as a young one. Always thought just the atmosphere, world map, mini games, side quests, battle system etc carry the game enough even if the story were shit (which I don't think it is) I also loved playing Tetra Master.

I prefer Kiseki and Persona. Never much liked Square JRPGs for some reason

You could but it's very primitive. VI-X-2 is seen as the golden age. starting with VI OR VII or maybe even IX is what I would recommend. The games are all separate story wise anyways. VII was the first game to have a lot of extra side content and a sort of free roam/exploration element to it that a lot of older JRPG's didn't have.
