The cold hard truth is that most people aren't meant to have kids if we're going off the basis of "only mature, good people are able to be good parents"
90% of people only get married because of pestering and because it's socially expected of them to get married, the person they marry is someone they'll love for a year and then treat like a nuisance for the rest of their time together. Then their family pesters them to have children, which they also do. Of course they CARE about their children, they are biologically wired to just like any other animal, but in truth they are dysfunctional. These people will have constant arguments and not be good parents or role models to their children, because their whole life has been steered in this direction by social expectations. At best they try, at worst they're completely apathetic towards their family.
If the world had the capacity for it, then the only people having children would be those who are well equipped mentally and relationship-wise to give their children the best upbringing.
