Her sister, who Ninigi-no-mikoto ended up marrying, is named Konohanasakuya-hime(no relation to Sakuya, they use different kanji), who's name means "Blooming tree flower princess" and she is represented by cherry blossoms, so she symbolizes ephemerality, which is why she was considered more beautiful.
In some versions of the myth, Iwanaga-hime doesn't curse anyone, and the shortened lifespans are a natural consequence of not marrying her. In others, she curses all humanity. Perhaps a slightly extreme reaction.

I've been thinking about her ability a bit.
If you take "change" as being physical, it essentially refers to entropy. Her being able to prevent entropy more or less means she can stop or slow down time. It's basically Sakuya's ability done at a more integral level.
If you take "change" to be philosophical, it means she can prevent an object from altering its nature, state or identity. This would mean that the object becomes an autonomous system, so movement can occur within itself, but it cannot interact with other systems.
The way she uses her ability to hide Eientei would suggest the second interpretation is more correct, but the first interpretation is more rigorous, so both could be correct, they don't contradict each other.

Kaguya might have both.
Both abilities can give similar results depending how you apply... And I guess Sakuya's is also more lax depending on the moment.
But it seems to be that Sakuya mostly changes things while Iwanaga maintains something, so that might be the limits of their time powers.
(There's also Sakuya stopping the night in IN and manipulating space in the mansion in EoSD so maybe things don't fit that nicely and I'm just being a bit shizo)
