I would like YOUR opinion
Made a short documentary-style video on the evolution of firearms — from ancient Chinese alchemy to bolt-action murder sticks. Tried to keep it fun while sneaking in actual historical facts.

Would appreciate feedback from fellow /k/ommandos. If I missed obscure guns, or you just feel like calling me a zoomer LARPer — go ahead. I can take it.

Really got into the fire lances — the fact that someone thought “let’s tape fireworks to a spear” and it actually worked is wild. Wasn’t expecting to enjoy this kind of research but here we are.

Suggestions welcome. Flame away.

The information was fine for beginners,(even though it's just a Wikipedia reading) but you need to ditch the gamer YouTuber voice, it's fucking gay, just be monotone.

Do alpha-zoomers like guns?!
Because this AI-voice meme shit is not a "documentary-style video", it's an AI narrated wikipedia article with brainrot memes playing over gameplay footage.

I agree with these anons, the info is fine as a basic overview, though it would be a lot better if you paraphrased it yourself, and did some original research, instead of quoting an existing article. But that's a pretty minor gripe. The big problem is why the fuck is the video full of gameplay footage and distracting dumbass memes?

>AIslop voiceover
>Background gameplay footage
The bar is already subterranean.

>1:04
Mention of 10th century Chinese fire lance, picture of 14th century European hand cannon.

>1:08
Fire lances were "flamethrowers" in the same way that roman candles are. Might want to clarify that.

>1:48
You completely ignored gonnes and hand gonnes and skipped all the way to late medieval heavy cannon.

>2:09
Arquebus calibers ran all the way from ~0.4" to 2".

>2:20
Matchlocks did not "become" impractical; the downsides you mentioned always existed. You also didn't mention the serpentine; which is generally considered the first point at which you can say that a firearm is operated by a trigger.

>2:25
You ignored the snaphaunce, the miquelet, the doglock and the fucking wheellock. Flintlocks didn't magically appear out of nowhere.

>2:29
Flintlocks were around for a century before the Charleville patterns and the 1717 pattern was also a true flintlock.

>2:40
Awful terminology, lack of detail

>2:56
Rifling had been experimented with since the end of the 15th century and was common in high-end sporting arms during the 16th.

>3:04
Implication that the Kentucky rifle was the first rifled firearm. Wildly incorrect, especially since they were introduced to the colonies by German gunsmiths working in an established tradition. The calibers also varied all the way from ~.25 to ~.60.

>3:21
The Baker was adopted in 1800.

>3:23
That's a photograph from the 20th century.

You know what, I've seen enough. My final score is kill yourself/10.

I don't get it, what's the point of tackling such a basic and broad topic when you don't know much about it, have any experience in making videos and have no production value to speak of.
What's the point? If the topic has been covered better and for far longer by several or especially many other videos.

Firearms were in regular use by 1350 AD in Korea, as were what would be considered privative MLRS systems.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hwacha

They were using privative ironclads and cannons in 1500 ad.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turtle_ship

Cannons may have very well come from Korea not China although not in modern form.

That video should be in the /k/ sticky to get every newfriend up to speed with all they need to know, presented in a way familiar to them.

I didn't watch it but based on what you say it's a foreigner using a chat bot to read Wikipedia over a poorly edited video to waste people's time with meaningless information that you likely already know.

To be fair, it could just be a heavily autist accented sperg, the other big producer of low quality ai voice-over videos no one asked for
