I will say, a major issue with the acog is if you are in a dark room looking into a lighter room or if you are in the dark and use a white WML the reticle doesn't illuminate and without the illumination finding and using the reticle is significantly worse than a red dot. with the illumination, even with the 4x shooting indoors is ok and superior to using irons

They're built to pick up ambient light extremely efficiently. The only time you wouldn't have an illuminated reticle is if you're in basically a pitch black room and even then you can still see the black reticle. Complete non issue if you actually own an ACOG and have used it before.
