the main issues with the trump parade were A) the US army doesn't do big parades so they just didn't have the experience or equipment. Best example those polish tanks have rubber parade treads on while the US doesn't have those so they had to put down janky metal grating on pennsylvania ave that looked like shit. You can also see the rubber tracks on pic related of the British and French Berlin Brigades' annual dabbing on West Germany and reminding they are an occupied nation.

B) Trump hijacked the US army's 250th anniversary because he wanted to have a kewl parade like Monke's great patriotic war one. The US army wanted US Army 250 to be a season nationwide community outreach where they'd bring guns, tanks and other equipment out to state fairs, sporting events etc. and let the general public play about with them. That stuff is recruiting catnip. I know a guy who became a tanker because at 10 years old he was allowed to sit in the commanders seat of an MBT at that kind of event. So the US Army was pissed that their golden recruiting op was replaced with a pelican around their neck and was happy to let the parade become a farce.
