Cheap, but in both the good and bad way. The guns they sell are very affordable and shoot well for the price, but often feel like absolute dog shit. That isn't really a problem in and of itself, but kind of like the loose forend on a Mossberg it can bother someone and make them wish for a slightly better made rifle.

They also make left handed versions of most of their bolt action rifles which is very nice of them. Stevens brand is mostly either Turkish or Chinese nowadays, as if their regular US made products are somehow considered expensive.

Their MSR-10 small frame AR-10 was fantastic but died due to their board being a bunch of pussies and I still havenโ€™t gotten over it.

It's like the pre mitt romney remington/marlin, ruger, mossberg ect. they make cheap hunting guns that are good to go. The only thing I've ever heard bad about them, other than the fact they make cheap guns, is that if you specifically buy their 220/212 bolt action rifled barreled shotguns for slug hunting the mags don't work and you have to use it single shot

Over the years I keep hearing anons mention that the MSR-15s are apparently great ARs but I never get a reply when I ask. So I ask: does anyone else have an MSR? What date range are anons talking about? Are the newer ones good as well? I've shot one similar to pic and thought it was fine but I haven't had enough rounds through various ARs to compare.

Oh and I shot a guy's MK I or MK II bolt action 22 with a silencer once. Pretty fucking nice even with the funny trigger dingus. And from what I understand, damn cheap.

Bought a MSR-15 Recon 2.0 2 years ago, use it for prone 100m and 300m shooting.
Shoots well enough to get me to the state finals on first try.
For 1400โ‚ฌ, i can't complain

I can't complain with mine either (probably earlier than yours, not freefloat) but it seems every time I find an anon who loves the MSR-15s in the wild they simply disappear once I ask them about it lol. It shoots well, probably better than I can. Bought a slightly nicer trigger as mine was milspec and kinda heavy. Not gritty or jumpy at all, though.

It's what I've heard from owners of those sluggers. Also that they like having such big and heavy projectiles but with rifle precision and range.

I think it's owed to the nature of shotgun shells, the slightly squishy plastic hull and the flat nose just is not very good for box magazines. Even in better box magazines, the hull tends to deform under load over time.

yeah I don't know they don't have a tube mag like the lebel or marlin model 60 or those semi auto ruger .44 mag carbines. the guns are 2+1 anyway so it's not like a 2 round tube would extend much farther forward than the current stock does. or they could have like a spencor style where the tube is in the buttstock

I thought it was all decent Chinesium but then I went to their website and they sell thousand dollarydoo 1911's so I guess those are still Pax Americana.

I have an MSR-10 hunter. I bought it to use as a suppressor host because I wanted a small frame 308 AR with adjustable gas and a decent singe stage trigger to use for deer hunting and as a suppressor host. It has a mid grade 4-16x50 tactical scope on it (a also discontinued Bushnell "Forge") and it happily prints sub moa groups at all the ranges I have access to (300 meters max) with 175 grain SMKs.

It's a great barrel and a good rest of the gun, it's been very reliable for me whether naked or suppressed, and it's enjoyable to shoot and not terrible to carry.

Wow! Maybe I'll have to keep an eye out for another when I put together my ideal hunting rifle. Weirdly I found another MSR-15 pretty close to my S/N IIRC recently (within ~10k?) that had a modern handguard added and it was converted to a different caliber. Might not have been the original upper; couldn't tell but it looks every so slightly off in color from the lower. It's just so rare for me to run into another MSR-15 that it's hard to find any info on how anyone else's shoots or what the other models are like. Can't say I've ever found one bone stock as it came out of the factory; furniture is always swapped at minimum.

I also find mine isn't bad to carry but it's an M4 style AR so it carries a lot like the rest of them. I threw a scope on it and it handles pretty nice for hunting. Really didn't need the trigger upgrade but it was maybe $100 and smoothed it out and brought the weight down a hair. Never had an issue with it.

A good option if you are looking for a cheap 22lr bolt action. I own a B22.
Mag is a bit strange but you get used to it.
Was a good deal for 500โ‚ฌ
