Why does the army even have pistols? Are they even used in combat? A pistol and a couple mags is 3+ pounds and the corresponding bulk that could have been better allocated to 3 more rifle mags.

>>64024361It's annoying how SIG has already gotten a bunch of judges and politicians to state that SIG isn't liable to be sued over the P320 thing, isn't it? They won't suffer from any legal punishment. Just the damage to their brand name. I wonder if P320s are still selling well.
I can't believe how retarded SIG is being.
I know its a huge financial burden, but they are literally leveraging the future of the company versus doing something to correct the problem. I know not every P320 is going off, but it seems that a lot of people who actively use them are having issues.
Doesn't seem too complicated to put out a bulletin warning customers, telling them to carry on an unloaded chamber or something, and coming up with an engineering solution. The last part is probably the hard one since they took the P250 and fucked it all up to have a Glock competitor.
>>64024422It's unethical, but if they admit fault, they become legally liable. If they can get away with quietly updating their production process to fix whatever tolerance stacking issue is resulting in the p320 striker being insecure, then they'll do it. The civilian demand for the p320 will be hampered, but that's pennies in comparison to military contracts.

Let me tell you how this goes.
1. Detailed investigation that openly and thoroughly explains there is an issue with the firing mechanism in the gun
2. The report recommends extensive changes are made: to the way people handle the firearm..no changes at all to the weapon itself or putting the blame on sig
3. Aforementioned manual of arms changes render the weapon basically useless. Eg can't have it holstered and loaded in a combat scenario. Condition 4: magazine not inserted, hammer not primed or whatever the fuck way the 320 operates, and that's how active duty guys will carry it. A paperweight
4. Report authors become senior execs at sig when they retire
Just give up lads. You're stuck with it

This, Cheap, Good enough for grunt work, Just put glass on top and call it good. Some many of you fags overthink this shit like suddenly you're use this as your primary. Cheap, light and should be made 100% in usa, The Sigs failed because sig was mixing Indian Parts with our parts and the jeets weren't marking the 10mm and 9mm seer. Blame DEI; outsourcing,of course greed and good'ol gobberment incompetence
