I've only fired the 1.0 full size, the 1.0 compact, and the 2.0 full size, all of them in 9mm, and honestly they're all great. There are two full length rail Springfield’s, the Emissary (square trigger guard, bull barrel are its defining features) or the older California TRP, which is the model closest to VP sounding.

I would nay the Emissary, but yay the TRP since it’s their high end line and has its roots from FBI and Military use. Springfield Custom Shop (their super high end line) supplied some of the last 1911s used by government agencies.

Pic related is the Springfield TRP, there are many models in the TRP line but this is the full length rail version.

No, the TRP is Springfield’s higher end line. Tactical Response Package, guns built to the FBI specs for their HRT team, if you want to read about that gun it is called the Springfield Professional. I think Delta, USMC, and other units bought guns close to that spec as well, the USMC Operator for example.

The TRP line I believe they have hand fit slides (handfit frame to slide fit) and upgraded internals compared to their standard line. Their standard line uses MIM components while their TRP line uses machined from billet/stock parts. The TRP would be comparable to Dan Wesson but I think not as tight of a fit, DW guns are retardedly tight.

TRP has many models over the years and a few of those models made it onto the CA roster so Springfield makes legacy models for CA.

Colt Officer, Defender, or Compact, etc they call them many different things since the officer and defender are Colt trademarks.

Getting a reliable one is a little tricky, since how small the gun is getting the timing/springs/tolerances right means that cheap ones likely don’t work 100% of the time. It’d be close to 800-1000 dollars I’d trust my life with it - after shooting it extensively to make sure it works.
