Military strategy
After Pokrovsk, Myrnohrad, Dobropillya, and Kostyantynivka would your next goal be Druzhkivka or something else?

wait I was told that this was the last stand and the globohomo nazi jew junta would collapse in two weeks, why would there be any need to besiege any more towns?

If the Russians ever actually manage to take Pokvrosk then the next town they attack will be the next town along the railway line as they are literally incapable of moving troops and supplies in any other direction

depends
how many golf carts/ladas do I have, and how many hundreds of thousands of eurasians do I get to throw at it? 14:1 is making this pretty expensive, so the answer better be "a lot".

I hate these maps.

Borders shouldn't be hard lines, but a gradual color gradient. The only time you should have hard border lines are opposing trenches and rivers.

Personally, I'd go to the city with the best burgers and take that ground so I could enjoy burgers. It'll probably help with morale too. I'm a fat american btw.

Ukrainian attack sparks blaze at Russian oil depot as countries trade strikes
Video shows black smoke pouring from facility in Sochi, while Russian attack on Mykolaiv wounds seven people

An overnight Ukrainian drone attack on an oil depot near the Russian Black Sea resort of Sochi ignited a raging fire, as the two countries traded strikes at the end of one of the deadliest weeks in Ukraine in recent months.

More than 120 firefighters worked to put out the blaze, said the regional governor, Veniamin Kondratyev, as emergency officials reported a fuel tank with a capacity of 2,000 cubic metres (70,000 cubic feet) had burned before it was extinguished.

Drone wreckage hit an β€œoil tank, which caused a fire”, Kondratyev said on the Telegram messaging app. Sochi, which hosted the 2014 Olympic Winter Games, is about 250 miles (400km) from the Ukrainian border.

Video clips on social media showed huge black pillars of smoke pouring out from the facility.

Kostiantynivka is going to be its own slog. It remains to be seen how Russia will adapt its tactics after taking two moderate sized cities simultaneously. Their current strategy is "blow everything up", but they will likely assess this after seeing how expensive it is to do that to anything larger than a village. They are probably going to chill out and the lines will largely remain static if they don't take Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad before November (which they likely won't), so we're looking at 2026 and who knows what sort of world events that may influence the war.

russia probably just needs to build as many glide bomb kits as they can and keep on doing that; that seems like the one thing that broke the stalemate. then carpet bomb west at a slow pace (with drones interdicting those that fleet).

ukraine needs more fighters to try and stop this from occurring. sams aren't good enough for it.

Does anyone have a vaguely authoritative article on how Russia would look if the war ended tomorrow and they kept whatever land they occupied? I find it hard to believe they could reconstitute themselves to a prewar level in terms of active strength. They for sure will never have as deep of stockpiles as before.

That's like four years of advances, I don't think we should be speculating that far ahead.

It's not stalemate if Ukraine is getting stronger and Russia is vanishing up its own anus.

Russia will never be as conventionally poweful as it was pre invasion in 2022 again. Their soviet stockpile too 70 years and all the resources of the warsaw pact to obtain. Russia is not the USSR, its a backward gangster state with crumblig infrastructure that is fast turning into north korea 2.0 but without the communist sponsorship that helped the kims survive.

no, a stalemate means no advances and land taken that can't really be contested.

ukraine needs heaps more fighters sent to them if they want to bring the stalemate back.

glide bombs are no subsitute for artillery, too slow to get a mission underay and on target and vastly more costly in wear on limited airframes. Utterly useless against anything other than open static positions .That was always more low IQ russian leadership at work.

keep going east along that big highway and threaten dinipro.
ukraine's biggest advantage so far is that they've successfully contained the fighting to the war-torn provinces (donestk, lugansk) that were already depopulated and bombed to shit 10 years ago, far from the safe, productive areas of the country.
dinipro is a beautiful city and completely untouched by the war, it has an active nightlife, clubs, even a great indie rock scene.
if russians threaten the city 200-300k people will be forced to flee just like hundreds of thousands had to flee kherson and kharkov. these threats of depopulation are the only bargaining chip the russians have.

By these standards 1917 on the western front was not a stalemate because the huns would fall back to a line of secondary prepared defenses instead of dying and holding every inch. The fact it took years to take the outskirts of the fucking town, not to mention the amount of men and materiel expended makes this the very definition of a stalemate. That is if they they figure out who is most responsible for this battle to create a new word to denote the sort of victory king Pyrrhus wouldn't even consider a fucking victory.

Nigger, Russia is creeping up on 2% of their male population in causalities, and even if Trump was off by one hundred fucking percent the current loss ratio is 7:1.

Its not even close to a 'stalemate' Ukraine can turn out 400-800 new modern armoured vehicles a year and a million drones a year, along with they have pariots and F16s and every month they just get stronger. They don't have any consciption for under 25s and they have the economic and political backing of the EU and UK.

Russia has the political and economic backing of North Korea and has a quite literally dying military and economy that has burnt though its societ stickpile and all the states cash reserves I'm so fucking sick of third worlders like you who are so low intelligence you can't filter Indian spammed Rusisan propaganda on you tube and /pol/ and think that you have some stong and valid points to deliver to Europeans and Americans about how mighty Rusisa is. Would you ever fuck off, you mind was too inferior to even filter the ridiculous kremlin propaganda that has been pissed into your skull.

Russia has lost this war. Not just lost it but lost it against all expectations and in a manner that redefines the meaning and scope of stupidity in human history. The Ukranains may pause, this could last one year , five or at the outside 10 years but if you have ANY delusions of Russia ultimately retaining something like Crimea or being readmitted to civilisation at this point you are living in a psychotic trance. Russia is beaten, its military is using bicycles to deliver men into combat instead of APCs against opponenst who are operating 15KM deep drone screens and have a 20+KM artullery range advantage. Go and rationalise to me why a great military and economic power is regularly using ladas rivas with the doors hacked off confiscated from its civilian population as front line combat vechicles.

Fuck. People like you exist. Imagine if people like you had never been shat out in your fucking village. Mankind might even have a had a hope of making it to the stars but someone just had to give your parents food aid.
