I would be surprised if the Ukies actually droned the donkeys. Not because "muh heckin animals!" but because the donkey becomes a liability for the Russians. It will wander off, then they need to go find it, and that might expose them, and it'll keep wandering off if it gets scared, etc. Or, if it does the opposite and just stands there staring at droned ziggers, it becomes a trap for whoever is meant to go get it because they'll just get droned right after. It's different from droning a vehicle where the vehicle is the idea thing to drone due to the secondary effects of successful hits (sympathetic explosion that kills everyone, and also destroys the vehicle). Blowing up the donkey seems mostly pointless, even if it was burdened with ammo because it's still an idea trap and just makes the mobiks lives more difficult as they try to get the fuckin thing after it runs off.

I'm not a fucking expert on using pack animals, but the pack saddle doesn't look like that, good thing they've put some blanket underneath, but it's just two ammo boxes connected by a single rope, in best case scenario it'll just fall, worse it will wound the animal.

They literally mobilized thousands of steppe nomads into their army, any one of them would be able to properly set up a pack saddle and harness but instead we see snow monkeys that don't know anything.
Those aren't even strong pack animals like mules or bigger donkey breeds, just the small types commonly used in zoos or as pets.
I strongly suspect those were send to them as rations, or they were ment to cheer up donetsk kids in zoo, but were stolen by mobiks instead.

They're funny. They were issued to raise morale in the rear echelon. The supply clerks were getting down and this improved the mood considerably.
Russian logistical efficiency picked up 17% after the videos started coming in from Ukrainian drone drop videos.

An FPV vid showed it hit a mobik leading a donkey or horse and it's assumed the animal died too.
I can't remember the channel or find the post with a 2 minute search; one of Butysov or Officer or Sternenko and within the last month.
It wasn't glorifying the death of the animal, it was blaming the ziggers for bringing it into the battle and making it a necessary target.
