Ralsei is definitely not a normal darkner, or a darkner at all, but I don't buy that he's the vessel.
1- He looks nothing like the vessel I made
2- He specifically looks like Asriel, and his name is an anagram, so he HAS to have some connection to Asriel
3- It'd be too much of an asspull, the vessel has to come up in a more substantive way in the story, whenever it does.
I have a few theories:
1- He's actually a lightner that's stuck in the dark world and can't leave for some reason. Possibly Asriel himself.
2- He's a darkner version of Asriel, that Asriel left on purpose to guide Kris someday when he grew up. Or maybe it's leftovers of Asriel's innocence or something when he grew up to be an adult?
3- He's a darkner that's created from something other than physical objects, possibly Kris' memory of Asriel.
4- Kris keeps a picture or a keepsake of Asriel on him at all times, and Ralsei is a darkner born from that item, and he's connected to Kris, which is why he's special.
Considering that Kris knows how to create dark worlds, and also seems to have meta knowledge to some degree, possibly even knowing as much as the Knight does, it would make enough sense that Ralsei would know as much as he does too.
