Not trying to change your opinion but it's helpful to remember that originally chapter 5 was going to release too with chapter 3 and 4.
So even though 4 felt like it had a nice ending sequence, that probably wasn't originally what the new stuff was going to finish with.
There's heavy implication that chapter 3 was the last funny go lucky dark world hijinks. it's probably going to get more serious from here.
And 4 still left a bit in the air about what the prophecy entails. Or if all of the main characters are even in it. It's probably not straightforward

The fight is meant to be short and intense, rapidly ramping up in difficulty to punish players who take too long. The reason there are only 5 standard attacks is that the standard attacks are meant to be exhausted in 9-11 turns, so 5 is all that's needed to avoid repetition.
If you spent so long on the fight that it became repetitive, then that is a massive skill issue. You're not meant to tank hits, you're meant to dodge them and attack.

That's where the metaphor falls apart for me. I basically conceived of the dark world to something akin to a sensory deprivation chamber, hence "the darker it is, the more you start seeing weird".
Maybe not literally literally (since we are assuming the dark worlds are actually real in some way), but at least as a sort of metaphoric analogy.
I also don't get where the Titans fall into all of this, metaphorically, they just seem to break the logical pattern of things for me, and maybe that's why I wasn't as engrossed when they appeared as I just felt some sort of an internal clash.
Nevermind I am probably just autistic.
