As faggy as it is, it's considered semi-normal now, anon. Gays and trans are just another aspect of younger society that, like political and religious beliefs, will get scorned by some and accepted by others. Even anons here who aren't already gay themselves just learn to sorta look past it and enjoy the games for what they like.
Also DR fans who aren't surface-level tumblrtards are otherwise fully aware of how fucking lame and sappy Suselle is, it's just kinda forced (ironic considering Toby really wants the player to feel the opposite, even spelling it out during the closet minigame) given Noelle is specifically into the superficial bad-guy traits of Susie when she's actually a far better, more complex person than that, and just hits it off completely out of nowhere without any prior development unlike what Kris and Susie had. This kind of dichotomy was instead a point of humor in UT, where Undyne and Alphys clearly are opposites from the start and it's intentionally awkward as hell when you arrange the "date", only vaguely going somewhere after some amount of time during the credits scene. The gay guards have the same thing, coming off as dudebros where one just bluntly admits he's got a thing for the other after you make the whole battle as weird as possible for him, and even the genderswap characters (the dress lion and Mad MewMew) are both a one-note joke and a juxtaposition of character traits respectively.
tl;dr UT's gays/etc. are at least funny and a minor story element, DR's are criticized and simply ignored by players with sufficient braincells since there's plenty more to like.
