This was a very good write up and put into words the jumbled mess of thoughts I have so far too
Normal Route is using you to end things with minimal resistance and not straying far from the prophecy because Kris/Ralsei's motivations, you really are a tool to be used by them in a way that doesn't rock the boat too much
Susie, as you mentioned, is key to changing things just like Noelle
Getting there though? good fucking luck, Kris is going to stand in your way at every step to fulfill his goals, maybe even Ralsei too
That being said it really could backfire, she would loop things over and over to live the story and never move on
Noelle is the most interesting, and "weird"...of the bunch
She would let you break beyond the bounds of what a normal playthrough would let you do, but it feels wrong even if she's on the same page as you
This is very clearly setting up a way to test what you can learn outside of the predetermined A-B path
What's very interesting to me is that not at any point does Gaster stop you or comment on Snowgrave as you're doing it
Gaster not getting involved is leading me to believe that Toby is NOT going to write the same story a different way and genocide you, it's going to be quite different with its relation to the theme of FREEDOM and be pivotal to breaking the game's set path
TL;DR the player is being used as a tool and lead upon a set path
