Glock 21 or Glock 40
S&W M&P 2 10mm, maybe the Performance Center version for the longer slide and barrel
those are your only options, and the M&P has mixed reviews and is only on the list because it has a trigger that doesn't make me want to kill myself, unlike the Glock
on the other hand, you can get a barrel and slide swap to 45 for the Glock

It's thick as fuck, if I had to do it again I'd probably go for a g20 and chop the grip for g29 mags.
I still love the fucking thing though.
Underwood has loads that will do ~1500fps out of the factory short barrel yielding like 700 ft lbs of energy.
Underwood "screwdriver" bullets will drill straight through a level 3 panel.
You can also get 9x25 Dillon conversion barrels if you want to see 1700 fps 9mm lol.

Chances are good you'll just be shooting ammo downloaded to .40 pressures so just get a .40. The frame will be more comfortable, ammo more affordable and it honestly has more BDE than 10

Compare Underwood in both. Also should consider is "power" just Foot pound based mostly on velocity, or overall velocity, weight, diameter and construction? .357 gets its power from a lighter smaller diameter bullet going faster, the 10mm from the same length barrel is nearly the same energy but with a heavier bullet or greater diameter.

Anonymous No.64093153

Also note that most ammo manufacturers list specifications that are from 6" test barrels, not actual pistols. Your velocity will most likely be lower.

I did. Look at Underwood's 155gr 10mm XTP to their 158gr .357 Mag XTP. Not only was the .357 post higher numbers across the board, it also subverts your presumption that .357 gets its numbers from a lighter bullet.

Even the cheapest, most underloaded 180gr 10mm is hotter than most 40s&w, people keep saying this but it's mostly bullshit.
Case in point: https://youtu.be/YBDS-KMDHyU
S&B sb10a 180gr hits 1035 fps out of a 3.7" barrel.
This is .40c per round shipped in 1000 round brick bulk pack ammo.
Even Buffalo Bore 180gr 40s&w +p only hits 1040 FPS out of a 3.75 inch barrel sig, and they've got disclaimers everywhere on it.

Weird bringing this up then suggesting that 10mm is superior, 10mms biggest problem is that practically no full power loads use projectiles actually designed for those velocities but rather .40 S&W projectiles. Pretty much any load under 165grs is suspect in the caliber when loaded to actual 10mm velocities. The 135s typically fall apart and under penetrate, the 155s are usually on the verge of that with just gel testing and barely penetrate adequately. 165s seem to be hit or miss. Meanwhile there are tons of widely available loads in .357 magnum that both offer real magnum power and good bullet performance as the projectiles are actually designed to be used for the caliber in question.

The "10mm is just expensive 40" fuddlore comes from Federal loading some of their ammo to the old FBI spec that eventually became 40 S&W. It's a pointless thing to bring up anyway since nearly everyone nowadays shoots weak bulk ammo for training and carries hotter ammo for defensive purposes. The only distinction is that there's no such thing as 10mm +P, because 10mm is a modern cartridge that didn't require the +P designation like 9mm and 45 ACP, which both have lower pressure SAAMI specs for their case capacity due to being over 100 years old.

There's really only a few choices. Fn510 was interesting but after seeing so many of their frames falling to pieces, I'd stick to glocks. Glock 40 and 20 are cool.

Fuck Smith & Wesson, fuck SIG, fuck 1911s (might be a few good choices but RIA sucks and was my only experience with 10mm 1911s)

I like the CZ platform more than anything so I bought a 10mm tanfoglio.

So in my opinion OP it's glock unless you want to spend a pretty penny and get a tanfoglio. My stock 2 was 1400 on sale. Normally 2100. Going to get a 9mm conversion kit and it'll be my main HD pistol. Glocks have more aftermarket support to basically build anything you want but I like metal frames and hammer fired pistols.

Didn't Kentucky Ballistics break his because he shot nuclear-tier ammo through it while using a suppressor and WML? Basically the frame couldn't flex to keep up with the slide velocity due to the weight of the WML and broke.

>Practicing with an ammo that's got 60-100 FTLBs less energy than your carry load is the same as practicing one that has 200-300 less FTLBs
Opinion discarded, the difference between 9mm range fodder and carry ammo isn't anything like the gap between week factory 10mm loads and the meme loads that justify that people like to brag about carrying

Sure, but every store that sells 10mm has Underwood, Buffalo Bore, and Grizzly (3 hottest commercial load). While most shops selling .357 magnum only have stuff like Federal, Remington, and Speer, you're lucky if you find some Buffalo Bore .357 Magnum at your local shop.

>Even the cheapest, most underloaded 180gr 10mm is hotter than most 40s&w, people keep saying this but it's mostly bullshit.
Paul Harrell proved that the only company keeping this myth alive is Federal, with their 10mm being loaded exactly like .40 cal (and their 10mm and .40 cal being weaker than every competitor's .40 cal too). All the other companies' 10mm was stronger than their .40.

>>64094364
Pretty much the only FN pistol that isn't breaking are their .45 and their 5.7. They've managed to fuck up 10mm, 9mm, and .22lr.
