Yeah, Iโ€™ve warmed up a lot on the 4 inch vs the 4.25 inch barrel considering one of my favorite guns is the Wilson Elite Professional 4โ€. It could have been me but Iโ€™ve heard it from other people, apparently the Springfield Garrison Commander uses a ramped barrel in .45

Iโ€™ve seen Springfield 4โ€ compacts on gunbroker, even some that seem to have custom work on them. Thereโ€™s a Wilson Stealth for 2.5k thatโ€™s a 4โ€ wafered bull barrel like I have on my Elite Professional

Aside from aesthetics (which I don't really mind here) what's wrong with the two piece barrel? And how the hell can you even remove it? Say I had an older 2.5" barrel I wanted to install. Are the frames compatible?

There is an outer jacket and the inner barrel. It was a โ€œcheapeningโ€ thing since now clocking the entire barrel doesnโ€™t matter, you just install the inner piece and then you just need to clock the outer shroud with the front sight.

The issues would be the front sight is no longer attached to the barrel. And you canโ€™t really trust S&W to clock the outer jacket correctly. They really donโ€™t make them like they used to.

Practically there is no problem, just that boomers hated it

And nobody has made a video of a mimfield shitting the bed? There's probably plenty of videos of nearly every type of gun out there having a catastrophic failure or parts breakage. I'm not advocating for one gun over the other because I've had nothing but negative experiences with ANY 1911, but I wouldn't base my decision or opinions on one, or even a few jewtube videos. I've only shot a tisas (or might have been a girsan, no idea) once at a range, and while the slide was tight, it wasn't any tighter than any high end 1911 I've shot wherein the owner literally had to fucking hone the rails to get the thing to work reliably.

"Red light is less disruptive to night vision because it doesn't readily activate the rhodopsin in the rods of the eye, which are the cells responsible for vision in low-light conditions. While other colors of light cause rhodopsin to decay, leading to a loss of night vision sensitivity, red light has a minimal impact on this process, allowing your eyes to maintain their dark adaptation."

No, Springfield Armory makes their 1911 frames out of castings from Brazil. The only decent entry level American made 1911's that are truly American made these days are Auto Ordnance BKO and unironically the 1911's that Ruger offers. Ruger has their own casting factory so at least they aren't buying blanks from fucking Brazil.

I guess you didn't read this part where they said this is not what actually happened, and that they had a second guy with a dental pick literally pushing the sear off the striker which is an impossible occurrence. They're essentially pulling the trigger. And they had to do this FIFTY TIMES, repeatedly peening new damage into the firing pin block until it was so deformed that it could allow the gun to fire ONE primer out of nine that it touched.
Anonymous No.64108890

Yeah and they got a second gun and it worked second time retard. The gun never goes off when the officer is standing there โ€œcrisscross apple sauceโ€ but moving or getting out of a car. We have documented videos of the gun going off in the holster. This FBI report identified internal safeties CAN fail.

I dont think you understand what they were testing

If the sear fails, which it can with enough inertia because of sig's glock-like tolerances, the striker block is supposed to prevent the gun from firing. Unconditionally. AT NO POINT, SHOULD THE STRIKER CONTACT THE PRIMER UNLESS THE TRIGGER IS MOVED SO FAR BACK, IT MAY AS WELL BE PULLED, EVEN IF ALL OTHER MECHANISMS FAILED. That is the point of a striker block.

ALL sear/hammer or sear/striker engagements can and do fail eventually with wear and tear. It's just metal catching on a ledge. These tests indicate the fallback safety in the p320 is not reliable and mere inertia can cause the entire gun to fail at once.

Idk, when I was infantry from 2014 to 2018 we never used blue. I suspect it might be because on old topographic maps, they would sometimes have a certain lines drawn in red. Which you can't see under red light. They changed them to brown lines on modern maps but milspec is milspec so that might be why you still see the blue lens cover. Ah, I was asking since the USMC the night of the attack was on alert due to their intelligence reports while the Army unit nearby did not know of an impeding attack. Army politics wanted the smaller Army unit to push further than the Marines and reach the Yalu river (Chinaโ€™s border) first. There was a split chain of command where the Army answered to a yes man with no combat experience under Dugout Doug and the Marines were commanded by a decorated veteran. Got a lot of armymen killed no good reason. The Army only survived since they had a platoon and half of M16 quad .50 cal half tracks and a platoon (4) M19 dual 40mm bofors AA guns. The book I read had an accounts of the surviving gunners just putting quad .50 cals to bore on a wall of chinamen. The 40mm bofors vaporizing a dozen of them in a single burst. Until they ran out of ammo before they ran out of chinks.

Either Army or Marines it was some of the harshest fighting the U.S. military has ever seen. For the Marines it was a crowning accomplishment and for the Army it was a part of their history they want to keep quiet.

It was a .44 (.45) caliber revolver that gave the Americans the edge in the west to defeat the Indians and Mexicans.
