Maybe? Some companies run spif programs where you basically earn free guns and gear by selling their shit. But you'd have to be shilling certain shit all the time and the likelihood of actually turning a decent "bonus" for yourself by redeeming and selling is low. A few guys I worked with managed a couple free pistols and rifles in a year but if they flipped them, they'd have maybe made an extra $2-3K a year. And some companies like springfiled issue a 1099 so you might get taxed on it as income.

The vibe I got from women buying guns was largely pragmatic. It wasn't a fear of DV or anybody they actually knew, more of the fear of crime in general and not having enough physical strength to adequately defend themselves without a gun. Most of them also had kids to protect.

California was also unique in that police have completely given up in some cities. Unless someone is dead, they aren't coming and criminals heavily capitalize on it. ATF was really not that bad. Because they know CA DOJ is much more aggressive they just kick back and collect a paycheck. Most of them work 2 jobs too because the SF office pays absolutely poverty wages.

You also need their permission to do anything via the DROS system (required for all gun/ammo sales) which is specifically designed to not work. I've seen pictures of 50th Anniversary CZ-75s that have either white or black engraving, on different sides. I've also seen 50th Anniversary models in cases with regular UPCs.

Is there any way for a store to know for sure wtf they are ordering for you? Do all CZs made this year have the billboard?

For the most part, yes. Turks are capable of making some ok shotguns, but even the best ones are just not at the level of even an average or low tier Italian one. Turk guns are disposable, Italian ones are a lifetime investment. If you are actually going to shoot a lot, the higher price tag is absolutely worth it.

That's a question for CZ. It is something their CS should know and tell you which UPCs have/don't have what you want. An LGS employee might know from experience but it's a dice roll, and the way a distributor or online store has it described can easily be wrong.

Also if you order a gun online and it isn't what you want, you can usually reject the transfer and send it back. Even if it is for an autistic reason. It is annoying, but when I worked behind the counter I'd rather do a bit more work than force someone to accept a gun they don't want.
