He and his co-conspirators' greatest fuckup was not getting their families away from the FSB's grasp in advance.
I understand why they tried split-second timing (so as not to raise suspicions), but the risk of messing up the tempo was too great.
Having their wives stammer out prepared statements that they're safely guarded by the FSB (which can very quickly turn into unsafely guarded, as we all know) really threw cold water on the whole endeavor.

O Murdercube, poutine-baptized patron of stripped threads and missing safety pinsโ€”
cube of confiscated calibers, maple-forged monolith of โ€œdonโ€™t do dumb stuffโ€โ€”hear our range-cold prayer.

We bring before you Yevgeny, the โ€œheroโ€ who sprinted the last hundred meters of a marathon, then tripped over his own ego and face-planted into The Emperorโ€™s orchestra pit. He tried the Star Wars speedrun: skip logistics, jump to Endgame, yeet the Emperor down the shaft. Instead he discovered the deleted scene: โ€œVillain Attempts Mutiny, Gets Experimental Flight Test.โ€ Lesson engraved in the manual, right under โ€œDonโ€™t chamber hope.โ€

Grant us, O Box of Boom:

The wisdom to never launch an uprising without fuel, food, and a friendly IFF.

The courage to keep our mouth shut on Telegram and our flight plan off the oligarch rewards program.

The serenity to accept that air superiority beats swagger, that torque specs beat speeches, and that every emperor has a window and a wrench set.

Bless his memory as a caution sign at the range gate:
โ€œClear your chamber. Clear your six. Clear your schedule if you booked the Emperorโ€™s airline.โ€

Let the saints of /k/ bear witnessโ€”St. Garand of the Holy Ping, St. Kalash of Mud-Reliability, St. Stoner of Ergonomicsโ€”
that hubris is not a force multiplier, and victory laps arenโ€™t valid without air cover.

And to The Emperor, patron of gravity checks and very long tables: may your cloaks snag on every catwalk of fate, and may you forever underestimate the recoil of reality.

Murdercube, right-angled and unblinking, keep our bolts slick, our comms brief, and our plans boring.
For in 7.62 we reflect, in 5.56 we iterate, and in .22 we practice until competent.

Range is cold. Lesson is hot.
Amen (and also with pew).

FEDERAL SECURITY SERVICE (FSB)
Public Assurance Notice โ„–-223 โ€œFamily Mattersโ€

In light of last monthโ€™s unsanctioned โ€œM4 Motor Rally & Government Outreach Program,โ€ the FSB affirms our unwavering commitment to the safety, comfort, and correct orientation toward gravity of the families of select Wagner Group management personnel. This is not punishment; this is guardianship with paperwork.

Scope of Protection (enhanced):

Housing & Windows: Ground-floor accommodations with premium window-restraint technology and state-approved curtains. Balcony experiences temporarily paused pending safety audit.

Wellness & Nutrition: Daily tea service, fully lab-certified to contain only the ingredients on the label. Vitamins A, B, and Loyalty.

Mobility: Secure door-to-door transit in friendly vehicles featuring seatbelts, plus auxiliary seatbelts.

Communications: Calls and messages will be lovingly monitored for historical accuracy.

Education: Age-appropriate modulesโ€”โ€œCivics: How Mutinies Are Bad,โ€ โ€œHistory: Generals Who Finished Their Careers Indoors,โ€ and โ€œGeography: Why Moscow Is Too Far.โ€

Neighborhood Improvements: Soft landscaping beneath legacy architectural apertures; installation of inspirational posters.

Visitor Policy: Unscheduled visits by unmarked vans are logistics miracles, not cause for alarm.

Media Guidance: Rumors alleging โ€œpressure,โ€ โ€œcoercion,โ€ or โ€œaccelerated gravity eventsโ€ are NATO-style disinformation.

Customer Options: Press 1 to confirm continued stability. Press 2 to self-correct instability. Press 3 to apply for Loyalty Plusโ„ข, featuring a certificate of having always agreed.
Legal Clarifications:
โ€œGuardingโ€ includes any custodial measure that prevents accidental departures, up to and including proactively removing opportunities for flight (literal or figurative).
Participants demonstrating exceptional alignment may be upgraded.
We thank all families for their cooperation during this celebratory season of unity.

it as ad hoc with no planning and they made it up on the spot. The army was closing in to take over, and Priggy felt paranoid that they were literally trying to kill him so he started the revolt. The original plan was to just capture the two military heads that he ranted about, but FSB caught wind and made sure they were safe. With a treason charge he bolted.

The Battle of Khasham wasnโ€™t a battle, it was a live demonstration of why you donโ€™t LARP as a superpower with second-hand gear.
Wagner and their Syrian butt-hole buddies thought they were pulling off a slick raid on a U.S.-backed position. Instead, they walked into a six-hour hell buffet served hot by drones, artillery, AC-130 gunships, Apaches, and F-15s. It was like showing up to rob a gas station and finding out itโ€™s actually a fucking United States Military live-fire range.
Wagfags lost somewhere between โ€œwe lost a companyโ€ and โ€œwe lost track of the body parts.โ€

A buddy I know who was in the navy at the time and knew of a few airfoce dudes that took part there said that he only thing they managed to capture that night was the world record for fastest mass incineration of mercenaries since medieval times.

>Wagner and their Syrian
You mean the Kremlim thought, they received calls from the US command and pretended that they didn't know that Wagner force because they thought that the call meant that the US forces were really caught undefended and would be easily destroyed/captured, if it were a genuine mistake or miscalculation they'd call them off and no one would ever hear about the incident.
Also the cope about muh air support, they did have jets in the area, but they did not dare support their own forces because of F-22s around, this was as real a battle as you can get and they lost 1000%.

Wagner is not officially part of the armed forces and doesn't answer to anyone but Putin, so I always thought the call about them not being Russina armed forces is just them being truthful. mean more than anything
So with sadness in my heart

and leave forever
what's done is done it feels so bad
what once was happy now is sad
I'll never love again
my world is ending

I wish that I could turn back time
cause' now the guilt is all mine
can't live without
the trust from those you love
I know we can't forget the past
you can't forget love & pride
because of that, it's killing me inside

It all returns to nothing, it all comes tumbling down, tumbling down, tumbling down
It all returns to nothing, I just keep letting me down, letting me down, letting me down
In my heart of hearts
I know that I could never love again
I've lost everything

everything that matters to me, matters in this world

>They were setting up defenses before Wagner got close.
The defenses consisted of earthen piles and hastily dug ditches - and iirc there were only cops and Rosgvardiya to defend Moscow, neither of which had heavy weapons nor armored vehicles.
The prigoconvoy was also able to swat away any air assets the Russians threw at them, so enemy aviation wasnt a concern

There was no planing at all. They were attacked first and counter attacked hard, no one thought that the general Russian forces would just let Wagner through without a fight. If they actually captured Americans they would absolutely play it officially as if the RU government and military had nothing to do with it and it was entirely Wagner. The Russians'/Soviet's entire playbook is pushing the envelope and pretending and lying that it isn't you.
