Gotcha, I heard somewhere 416s don’t run certain types of ammo reliably. I’ve been doing a bunch of autistic research to potentially get a new AR, and I’ve been trying to weigh the differences between piston and DI. So if you could tell me what your experience has been that would help a ton. Especially the LMT since that’s a more Gucci one.

in my limited experience with piston guns vs DI, i would just go with DI. DI is softer shooting, lighter handling. the LMT MRP system has other benefits, monolithic rail, rapid barrel swap, but im not exactly hoarding MRP barrels. i think the pof piston was trying to chase the 416, but it doesnt really have the benefits of the MRP. still a nice gun, will run no matter what (apparently)

Ah,, where to begin.. Yes, first it was not getting a KAC when there was a local dealer down the street who eventually quit being a dealer. Trying to make my 16" builds look like 14.5s with shorter rails, vfg placement etc. Getting two YHM turbos instead of just getting an RC2, which I eventually did, now i feel like the yhm's are unwanted neets living in my basement. Not shooting more pistol. The A5 system, especially the A5, smooths out recoil at the cost of sending the dot into orbit and having the buffer do a full orbit around the earth before the dot returns to where I want it. Blowing through 300 rounds in 20 minutes at the range when ammo was 24 cpr. Wait no I don't regret that one at all. The coffin of recoil springs, grips, and VFGs. Convincing myself the plx-c was good instead of just getting an atacr. Yes..ah yes,

My problem with it is that they are gonna charge top dollar for an AR with a heavy barrel profile which is retarded. Id of been fine with a gov profile but for the price these are gonna be I was really expecting some kind of modern taper profile barrel. Yuros are just retarded though and think weight saved in the AR platform can be put into a heavier barrel because they terminally live in the 80s and don't know what real combat means. Upon reflection: I like greenfifteen. The handguard+Magpul+adapter is a tastefully visually harmonious, yet conceptually dated design. It's a gun that would sit fine in the BF4 armory as an M4A1/Urgi stand-in, which came out 2013 when this visual code was peak IFYKYK

>>64174707
Imo it feels like if it was unveiled 10 years ago it would have been considered very modern, whereas now it's just reaching par. Dated not as in obsolete but as in mundane. I wouldn't really say... anything good about it at all.. but the Nig Spear represents a "vision" for new tactics and strategy that is probably wrong and retarded, but again, it represents an attempt at something new. So it feels almost mechanically/weaponicistically conservative. Dated as in established. Idk it's like coming out with an improved breed of horse with a new 107 HP engine or some shit while we were still fumbling with what would become the Ford model T. The SIG spear is not that but an attempt as a whole for the industry to find a new paradigm shift that might push the game forward

Also aesthetically it feels exactly the same for all the same reasons. It looks like my PSA upper. Like a Kac upper. Like a BCM upper. The exact same? No. Performance wise? Not even close. But they're all visually coded similarly. It's not innovative, but that's okay! Improving and refining a design, visually, mechanically, and logistically and that's amazing too and will pay dividends. But until someone comes up with something new: m4a1s on mars

Range Report -
black hills 77gr OTM kind of mid. Extremely similar velocity to the (old) AAC 77gr OTM but it did group well, around 1.5 MOA best 5 round group. Federal gold medal went at an outright leisurely pace basically 7.62x39 tier but admittedly pretty accurate and consistent. Best 5 round was about 1.25 MOA. Probably would save the gold medal stuff for 18"+ but would buy more if you wanted super accurate ammo.
Black hills don't know if I see the hype. For the price you can get NAS3 which while not groundbreaking is objectively better.

Good explanation thank you. I kind of agree and see what you mean. For all intents and purposes this is a 416/m4a1 (depending on GP or DI) with mlok. I’m sure for most countries still rocking quad rails this is an upgrade but you’re right in that it’s a decade too old to be cutting edge.
I also agree on the nig but I think we can both agree that it’s a step in the wrong direction. But a dressed up AR180 able to handle high pressures could lead to something else down the road I guess, if it actually gets ordered in large quantities

For the high level shooter when you are target focused shooting at speed the, you are more or less shooting at the color red, not overlaying target with dot. Bigger red in reticle = bit bigger groups. It's all about your indexing, you hardly even aim.

For the average joe shooter it is visual noise that is slowing you down bringing dot on target. It often induces premature trigger pull as people yank it when the outer ring nears the target as soon as you put them on a shot timer.

As you get more reps and develop better indexing you don't really aim with the dot as much as confirm your aimpoint with it. You want a single easily seen dot. As you are developing this skill, a fine point of aim is better for getting accurate reps.

I'm like a C class btw.
