You can't go wrong with a Glock 19. Personally, I recommend a 92 variant for a first gun. It shoots pretty easy due to being heavy, it has a huge aftermarket and it has a manual safety.

If a gun has a bunch of major third party upgrades its a sign that either the gun is retarded or the users are. In glocks case it's both, and all the upgrades defeats the point of the glock, which is familiarity with mediocre ubiquity. They are designed to cost <$300 and be purchased in bulk.

the H&K p30sk and p2000sk are subcompacts that carry like a glock 26 and shoot like a glock 19, and readily accept extended magazines for carrying with heavier clothes and flat mag baseplates for carrying with lighter clothes

also i'd get a glock 26 before a glock 19 and just buy the extendo clip cuz. barrel length is for handgun hunters and ballistics nerds that fantasize about the miami dade shootout. my first gun was a glock 26 with 2x10rds and a 15rd and i usually carried the 15rd comfortably and flat bottom 10rds in hot weather. the recoil and muzzle blast are not noticeably worse and it's still funner and easier to shoot than a subcompact.

Literally anything since Washington is a gray zone, thereโ€™s a few shops that donโ€™t care at all, the law is very hard to enforce and so itโ€™s mostly self enforced.

A 10 round .40 S&W Beretta 96 magazine may hold more rounds of 9mm than what is legal. The feedlips are slightly different, I had one .40 S&W magazine feed 9mm better than it did .40 (it jammed with .40 but ran perfectly with 9mm). theres no spring on the gun that makes the mag catch go up.
what pushes the lock up is your magazines follower and magazine spring.
what holds the slide back is the recoilsprings tension. which is easy to jolt and send the slide home since its just friction.

Opinions on the S&W Shield Plus versus the p365 for an edc? So far the Shield Plus feels a little more comfortable in my hands, but the p365's potential add-ons are a really tempting factor. Other subcompacts are welcome too, but these two seemed like the top options from my research so far.

>Shield Plus feels a little more comfortable
Swipe the shield grip against the skin of your waist a few thousand times and see if you get an unbearable rash that makes you wince in pain every time any individual spike of that grip touches the red swollen flesh. If that doesn't happen, get shield.

I have had one aluminum framed 1911. The Dan Wesson CCO in .45 ACP, I fucking hated it and it never functioned 100%. Get one in 9mm, if youโ€™re looking at 9mm ones, then the Alpha Foxtrot S-15 1911 should be something you look at, it uses Glock 43X mags so it can use the Shield 15 rounders for almost the same thickness as a single stack. I have seen one anon with one and he liked it

9mm aluminum frames will probably last a long time, 1911s seem to have the strength of steel important to the longevity of the frame so .45 ACP aluminum frames eventually will fail.

Iโ€™m insane, but Iโ€™m perfectly fine carrying a full size steel 1911 all day appendix.

A Magwell on an officer frame is kind of ridiculous since youโ€™re inching closer the the length of a full-size. Big baseplate magazines as well.

Top left is an CCO (4.25 inch officer) and commander (professional 4.0 inch barrel instead of 4.25 actually) side by side
